The 1980's are back and so are Transformers Toys !

There is a lot of talk going on now about a return to the 1980's, the similarity between things that happened during those years that are happening now in our world people cuting back etc. (I don't want to mention the R word HAHA) We are hearing a lot of music from that period being re-released. Now the Transformer toys of the 1980's are making a BIG comeback and the new Speilberg movie Transformers2 Revenge of the Fallen will be HUGE next year. Buying a Transformer toy this holiday season makes sense! The car above is Bumble bee Transformer

A Bit Of History

In 1984 Hasbro released the very first robot-to-vehicle figures and an animated TV series hit the airwaves which went on to be the most watched TV show of the year. Marvel comics got in on the act and decided to issue a four series mini series but due to phenonimal demand it grew to 80 issues. The Transformer Toys of the time were DECEPTICON jets let by their evil leader MEGATRON, STARSCREAM jet,OPTIMUS PRIME and DECEPTICON SOUNDWAVE a robot which turned into a cassette recorder (remember them? LOL)
In 1985, Transformers were the hottest toys in the market and Hasbro introduced CONSTRUCTICONS construction vehicles a team of six DECEPTICONS that turn into individual robots and combine to form DEVASTATOR, a larger robot. This is the first of many "merge group" TRANSFORMERS (figures that combine to form a larger one) Also introdued were the INSECTICONS, robots that turn into insects, as well as the AUTOBOT JUMPSTARTERS figures. The JUMPSTARTERS feature pull-back motion - pull them back on the floor and let go, and they move forward and change into robots. DINOBOTS, dinosaurs that change into robots; some of the most popular characters in this group are GRIMLOCK, SLUDGE and SWOOP dinos. Also hitting store shelves: SHOCKWAVE, the first electronic Transformer with lights and sound.
From 1986 on, over 50 Transformer toys in all shapes were created including my personal favorite the Hasbro Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee Figure that defended the planet from all evil

He's in the new movie, he's a hero and he's the BEST!

Of the 20 plus Transformer toys that I have bought for my sons, without doubt the number one that gives satisfaction is Hasbro transformers Ultimate
Bumble bee Transformer

He's big, does more, makes more sounds and is the one the boys keep going back to. He is a little more expensive than the others but he is worth it. In adjoining lenses I give reviews of the main Transformer toys and some videos to watch. Finally, to mention, that big question every parent has to deal with, what will we get for this Christmas holiday period? If you have a son I would strongly recommend a Transformer

Transformers2 Revenge of the Fallen

One of the biggest movies coming out in 2009

In this video you can view the new Transformers that will join our hero Bumblebee and the evil Megatron. There will be heavy promotion of this Speilberg movie in the months ahead
