Kathy and Rick are
Katick Supplies, a Canadian company, was founded in 1983 by owners Rick and Kathy Story. They started out as a mail order only business. In 1984, they opened their first retail store with only 100 square feet to operate out of but went on to open several larger stores. Both retired in 1992 to a quiet life in Northern Ontario. In 2001, the internet peeked their interest and they ventured into ecommerce adding their website to the internet. They have never looked back.
Their company is registered with Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments; they hold a Business Number with Canada Revenue Agency (the tax man), a Vendors Permit with the Ministry of Finance (the other tax man) and a Business Licence with the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services.
In 2007, Forbes Magazine rated their company as, hmmmm ..... seems they are not listed (* pout * but Kathy is sure they would have at least said we are really nice folks!)
By the way, Katick is a portmanteau formed from Kathy and Rick.

About Us
OK, enough about the "official us".

We have been happily married for 30 years and live in the small community of Spanish, located in Northeastern Ontario between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie, situated on the North Channel of Lake Huron. In 2001, we got a little tired of retirement, but we did not want to start another retail store and the internet suited our needs perfectly.
Rick always enjoyed making his Bullet Pens and we thought the internet would be a great way to sell them. We knew this would be so different from operating a retail store which we closed when we retired in 1992. We had to learn all about computers, e-commerce, the new lingo, website designing and html and after four months figured it all out, well almost, and we created our website and started selling our Authentic Bullet Pens on-line in August 2001.
We make a great team. Rick being the artistic and production side, thinks up, designs and manufactures our products. Kathy, that's me, is the administrative side and webmaster, I run the office, make sure the orders get to our customers, that all the figures add up and maintain our website and online stores.
We both share the housework and grab meals when we can. Rick also loves to fish in his spare time, be sure to drop by Ricks Guided Fishing.
Rick is a bit of a mad scientist and he spends hours in the basement, his laboratory, inventing all kinds of new things. Many make it to our website, and well, some don't! Over the last few years, he has been very busy, adding so many new items to our product line.
In 2005, since we were so much more than Bullet Pens, and we opened our eBay Store, we decided on a new name and logo; after all, our bullets are very well dressed!
In 2006, we changed our domain name from bulletpens.ca to awelldressedbullet.ca.
In order to continue to diversify, in 2007, we opened our Etsy Shop as well as our eCRATER Shop.

Becoming A Well Dressed Bullet

We operate our website and online stores under A Well Dressed Bullet.
Face it, our business name Katick Supplies is easily forgotten and often misspelled. I put a lot of time into deciding on a name, before we opened our eBay Store in the Fall of 2005.
Since I am not a very creative person, I actually held a contest (with a prize LOL) with my eBay pals to come up with a really unique and easy to remember name.
From the name I chose, A Well Dressed Bullet, which I immediately loved, designing our eye catching logo was easy! I combined our catchy new store name with a bullet in a tuxedo!
On a Funny Note.....

I thanked her, but admitted that our official business colours since 1983 were actually black and "no-name" yellow and that since we went into ecommerce and online sales, I switched to red..... which promotes impulse buying * blush *
Shhhh, don't tell anyone, ok? LOL
Featured in Maxim Magazine
April 2004 Issue
We were so surprised, and kinda proud, when Dan (writer) from the head office of Maxim Magazine in New York City contacted us in 2004.Dan, working on a story for military gear converted into various gadgets, was browsing the internet and found our website, intrigued with our Shotgun Shell Bar & Party Lights.
Ok, I have to admit, when his email first came in, I ignored it. Imagine my surprise when he called several days later. I was sure it was some sort of scam. What can I say, I have never heard of them.
I'm so glad I didn't hang up on him! And apparently Rick had heard of them! LOL Needless to say, our website received some great exposure.
Editors Note: When Rick's friends found out we were going to be featured in Maxim, they thought it was me who was being featured * blush *
