AB "The Enigma"
It is called the "The Enigma".Wikipedia definition: An enigma is a puzzle, something mysterious or inexplicable, or a riddle or difficult problem.
According to all the research I have done, the first positive date for AB blood type was 700 AD. However, if you believe the Shroud of Turin, which was found to have AB blood on it, was the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in after his crucifixion, then it would be much earlier than that.
What does AB mean in blood types?
Those who have type AB blood do not make any A,B, or O antibodies. It will accept any blood type in a transfusion. AB is the universal recipient.
So how did it come into being when the rest of the world was O, A, and B?
If an A is inherited from one parent and a B from the other, the type will be AB.

Diet Concerns
These are my personal experiences and are not meant to be used as gospel for anyone other than me. It is only a suggestion to read about your blood type.I began reading "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type" when my parents suggested it might help me with some of my food reaction issues. My body has rejected poultry of any kind all my life. Though I love all kinds of poultry, I cannot eat it without a violent and dangerous reaction to it. Food allergies are terrible, especially when it's something you love. I've always had issues with meats. I love it, but my body does not.
When I received the book, I opened to the AB blood type and there it was in black and white! My problem? ABs are the vegetarians of the blood groups. Now that made more sense to me. Once I began kicking some of the meat, not all, out of my diet, I felt better and my body began responding the way it should.
