Thanks for posting this informative lens. Both myself and my daughter are both diagnosed adhd. It's a neverending struggle being inattentive myself taking care of an innattentive child (age 10). Anyway I look forward to reading more on this soon. But as an MD I'm sure you know I can't sit for long! haha

Lots of food for thought here. Sound therapy is also useful. I work with autistic children and you can see anxiety building up sometimes. I use Tibetan singing bowls and they seem to be effective. Good results so far! Thanks for this lens.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when in reality I had a panic disorder. Having said that, the medication did help me perform at school, but the second time I was prescribed it, it was not as effective. I am currently practicing mindfulness to help my anxiety.

I think it is important to note that people with ADHD often have 1-3 other secondary disorders going on and a common one is anxiety. Undiagnosed ADHD can manifest itself as a genuine anxiety disorder! That was the case with me when I was a kid and going into adulthood--when I finally realized I have ADHD.

This is really great information, but I might add that you should look up zoloft side effects before trying it.

I also feel that ADHD is diagnosed too often. Many times I wonder if it is not us who has a "problem"...

When we get older we tend to buy all sorts of programs on CD's and whatever else to BOOST us to be more energetic and lead a "full life."

As soon as we do not have time to deal with someone who has what we do not have, we diagnose it as ADHD.

    Shame on us!

To be honest, I've done all kinds of things have been on medication but nothing was a cure. It helped for a while. So later I switched to natural methods and read some psychological books such as Joe Barry Panic away guide and when I've learned to deal with myself, I helped myself.
