From the lens Ab Rocket Review | Does The AbRocket Exerciser Really Work?.

  • Mark Feb 11, 2011 @ 10:15 am | delete
DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT!!! After two and a half weeks of once daily use, the right tension spring snapped while in use. The recoiling spring sliced across my ride side and seven stiches were required to close the wound. The Ab Rocket is a dangerous and poorly made product. Stay away from this one.

I'm using Ab Rocket for a week and luckily, i can see improvements now. =P .. I didn't follow the dvd routine.. =P i'm using my OWN... and that is to use the rocket simple like an ordinary sit-up exercise..... =P ... just like that.. everyday!...yes, everyday... with lots of repititions. :D ..

I bought the Ab Rocket and was very dissappointed with it and the results I used this product faithfully and to be very honest havent gotten the results that I expected. I was very excited to get started when I got it but the resistance is nothing but lame. Dont waste your money>

I do nt know your age, but I would suggest you, do not waste your money on such machines. If you realy want yourself in good shape and health, go far a long walk daily do some aerobics, have a control on your diet.

The AB Rocket works very well. You can do sit ups very easily. You can work the middle and the sides of you abs. The AB Rocket is very easy to use. It protects your neck and back. It is spring loaded so when you are coming up you have an extra push. I found that it is the best and easiest way to work your abs. I have been using this product around three years now. I now have those nice muscle lines on the middle and sides of my abs. The only bad thing about this product is that it is not made well. The springs that are used for tension break after about 6 months of regular use. I have contacted the company before and they did send me a new one. The last time mine broke I just went to K-Mart and bought another one. They are a little expensive to keep buying like that but if you want something that really works and that's very easy, it's worth it. This last time I have gotten lucky and my AB Rocket has lasted me for about two years; but, I haven't used it on a regular basis. Overall I would give this product 4 out of 5 stars.

Hey there, I'm 36yrs old, and have chronic fibromyalgia. I have been disabled with this disease since 2000,I used to go to physical therapy all the time.....until my car died, Anywho, while I was at P.T, I used an exercise ball, it helped tremendously with easing my back pain, so I decided to get an Ab-Rocket($115.00) The exercises are almost exactly like the ones I used to do on 'the ball', but it supports my back much better,(with a little massage included). I say "try it before u buy it" You just might be surprised.

Hi: I appreciate your comment. I have problems with many different exercise regimens due to epilepsy. I just bought the abrocket over the phone, the 30-day trial approach. I hope to keep it if it works well and the parts don't give out. Thanks for leaving your comment, it sounds like one by a "real person!"

I wonder if this product will reduce a bulging stomach hernia?
  • kim Feb 4, 2011 @ 8:26 am | delete
Definitely not. A hernia is bulging soft tissue through the muscular wall. NOTHING will reduse it except surgery.

I am wanting to buy an exercise machine, but I'm torn between the AB Rocket and the AB Circle. Both are getting mixed reviews. More reviews are bad than good for both systems. I was at Academy Sports and saw that the Ab Rocet was $99.00 and the AB Circle was $199.00. So I figured I would research the reviews on both before I buy.
Being that you can now buy from your local sports store, I'm trying to find if "It works" and try not to get so caught up with the customer support issues.

I have fibromyalgia, and wanted to know if this ab rocket would be good for that.
I can't do alot of weights or anything like that. But it looked like it would be a good way
to work muscles and stretch them easily. Let me know what you think.
  • suzy Sep 17, 2009 @ 6:36 pm | delete
Thanks. You saved me a hundred bucks (for now) and I went to my library and picked up the audio version of the South Beach Diet, which even the doctors I work with use and recommend. I'm going to lose the weight first and then tone up so I can see and appreciate the work. But this Ab Rocket still looks good to me, because I have neck and lower back problems.

Trust me. I have had 4 spinal surgeries, and I live with chronic pain. I purchase the Ab Rocket about 3 yrs ago. I was depressed and gaining weight due to my sedentary lifestyle.
Well, when the Ab Rocket came I was very cynical toward it. I wasn't expecting much, but I put it together and watched the DVD. I selected 2 excersizes to do 3 times a week and I did them for 2 weeks.
The 3rd week after using the Ab Rocket I noticed my underwear started falling off. I am dead serious! I was shocked. I started getting my body back and I was thrilled.

So does the Ab Rocket work? Absolutely! Like any excersize, you just have to do it. Tremendous purchase for those who have physical difficulty in dong traditional sit ups. I wouyld recommend this product to everyone. It really does work.

I actually bought this device to help strengthen my ab muscles in a way that would not torture my back. I have a bad back and letting the tummy get out of shape or full of fat only adds stress to bad backs.I don't want to ever go there. No illusions of a "sixpack" just a workout my back could handle and working at any level on any muscles is not a bad thing. Good diet and exercise keep the back pain at a level I can live with.

So, don't buy products from TV.

Diet helps to remove fat hence more fat less ab definition I use this machine as guide and support to do my crunches not as a device to remove all the fat in the mid section trust me I weighed about 220lbs 3 years ago and 42 inch waist line diet made me loose all that I now have 30inch waist line and weighed 150lbs and I only use this to get more definition

ORDER OFF OF EBAY OR AMAZON>>> DON'T go to the Ab Rocket Site....!!!

I ordered the Ab Rocket as a gift for my girlfriend and I. As far as the machine goes it seems to be what was advertised. However, I was VERY dissapointed with the purchasing process, customer service and so forth. I purchased from the Ab Rocket web site for $134.80. The the next day it was offered on the same website for 99.99. I had also ordered the flex master attachment for an additional 59.95. When I called about getting the reduced price advertised the very next day, my order was given a $25 credit to my card. Or I could return the Ab Rocket at my cost and trouble and reorder at the new price.....
A day or two passed and then I recieve a friendly email advertising a discounted price of $59.95 shipping and handling for additional Ab Rockets.

This company should take better care of it's client's.....

Overall, they win....we're going to keep it....but they'll get no repeat business.
  • nicki Jun 29, 2009 @ 1:49 pm | delete
If you live in Canada, they will charge you $33.00 upon delivery. Plus they did not wait the 30 days to start charging my credit card, they changed it soon as I ordered.

julia, what are you talking about ??!?!? you can adjust the springs. and personally, i think if you dieted the right way while doing the ab rocket, you would see a result. you cant do the ab rocket for an hour and then eat a piece of cake.
maybe before you say what a piece of shit it is, you should try it longer than a day, and read the directions duhhhhh.
    kaythanks.
OH BTW ;; my ab rocket works fine.
and i can feel my abs tightening up when im working out.
i started out doing fifty and day and then the more i got used to it, i added 50 more.
I ALSO work out other body parts NOT using the ab rocket. CAUSE THE AB ROCKET ONLY HELPS THE ABS AND STOMACH AREA. hence the word AB.

I just got my ab rocket home and tried it for the first time. It isn't as comfortable as they make it out to be, but it's not bad either. I could feel my abs working so it's not total crap like some are saying. Keep in mind I am out of shape so my threshold is a little low. I do think any weight-loss anything is over-hyped, but only an idiot thinks you can eat 8,000 calories a day, do ten crunches, and be a Fergie-look-a-like in a month. Unfortunately most people don't know you can NOT spot reduce, but you can strengthen muscle groups and strong abs are key to a healthy and safe back. Whatever motivates you to get exercising is a good product for you. So best of luck to all the fellow fit body seekers, and yeah, it'll only hurt a bit

j dog-- I was wondering what store you found the ab rocket in that it was only $75.00. I am interested in purchasing this product too, but its pretty expensive.

I have lower back issues and I am sure I will not get a 6-pack but figure the design will help to support my back while strengthening my ab muscles. (mine are almost non-existent).
  • ryanna May 5, 2009 @ 5:35 pm | delete
AB Rocket helps me in doing sit-ups, it makes it easier. I don't usually do sit-ups but now I do 30min sit-ups everyday.
  • Grace12_34 May 5, 2009 @ 2:23 pm | delete
I wholeheartedly agree with ladystlight1. In all the bashing of AbRocket that I see here, not ONE person has mentioned that the AbRocket comes with its own Meal Plan, nor has anyone mentioned the Pilates and cardio exercises included on the AbRocket DVD. HENCE, the manufacturer is well aware that it takes more than a "gizmo" for flat abs and/or weight loss. I have been using the Meal Plan for MONTHS, without even assembling the AbRocket itself until today when I used it for the first time. The Meal Plan, along with the exercise I get from studying taekwon do, has helped me to lose inches off my abs and other areas as well. The AbRocket will be VERY helpful because I will be able to do numerous situps easily without the neck sprain I get when I do the abdominal crunches in taekwon do class. When I am doing those crunches, I feel like my neck is getting more of a workout than my abdominal muscles.

In closing, if you want to BASH a product, be fair and leaving NOTHING out!
  • Stu May 5, 2009 @ 2:03 pm | delete
I bought the ab-rocket and I find that it isolates the abs much moe effectively than simliarly advertised profits. I don't believe it to be a magical machine that will burn the belly fat all on its own, but I do find it to be better than other ab-related things.
  • j dog May 3, 2009 @ 9:59 am | in reply to Julia | delete
I have no idea what your talking about Julia i have mine and it works out fine. I got mine at the store for 75 bucks. It isn't the most omg made of steel product but it does the job and it works if you spend the time. You have to have a diet and a book comes with it that give you diet ideas. Simple follow it and do the work out its' a 2 part system. I love hearing how some people complain and complain about stuff yet your not eating right. That's just plain stupid you have to do this stuff in a 2 part process or you will never see the results. Especially women who seem to be worse then the guys. You guys say oh well i need to have ice cream well it's not just the ice cream its the fact you eat the whole half gallon. If you take the half gallon and reward yourself with a small scoop. You have to follow the process no results happen over night and diet pills are a joke. Just eat right work out do the ab rocket and weights and you set and some cardio.

Hi, the pricing on their website or the TV offer really suck, I hate trials anyhow. However, I suggest buying it from ebay for about $80 with free shipping if you plan on keeping it.
  • Roger D. Apr 28, 2009 @ 6:14 pm | delete
Boy! That 14.95 sure caught my eye fortunately, I decided to read the rest of the site instead of just jumping and ordering. Total price $134.80, Doesn't sound like a cheap way to exercise to me. .
  • mary Apr 28, 2009 @ 5:18 pm | delete
I refuse to buy it only because on the tv they say it is 14.95 return it if not satisfied. I understand they say trial, but I have read over and over again when it comes on and there is nothing even in the fine print that states after the thirty days they would charge you and additional 39.95 for three months. It is such a scam. Please if your going to sell these things at least make sure the full price is advertised. Don't let people think that it is only 14.95 and then find out that they owe more after the thirty days. I actually was going to order it until I read that on the internet.... False advertiseing.. What a shame...... I will do with out ......
  • JonathanD Apr 27, 2009 @ 12:45 pm | in reply to Ziomek | delete
Hi, the problem is that the product is marketed as a complete solution to tone your abs. I believe this will not work for everyone. That being said, if you feel that you will do more crunches with this product, go ahead and buy the Ab Rocket.
  • Ziomek Apr 27, 2009 @ 10:47 am | delete
Hi, I think you guys have the wrong idea about this product. I'm thinking of buying it and I don't expect 6 pack instantly. I really don't like to do sit ups just like a lot of people because of back and neck. I get feel more pain in my back and neck then in the abdominal area when doing crunches or situps. This product is designed to help you do sit ups and crunches. It supports your back and neck so you can concentrate on crunches, not on lifting your neck. As to other programs you guys are recommending, it is true that they will help you lose weight, but I would like to say that ultimately sweating your ass off and eating healty is the key to losing weight, there is no magic wand. If a machine will help you do the exercise, it is worth buying.

I suffered a serious spinal injury and ended up bed ridden for 10 months, during which I lost all muscle tone and gained over 70 lbs. After my final surgery and the placement of a pain pump, my doctor released me to only slow, gentle exercise. I purchased an ab rocket and began to use it. I am now doing all levels on the ab rocket, including the pilates and am pleased to say I have lost 42 lbs and once again can feel the muscles nice and tight all along my waist contour. I'm not saying I don't have belly fat, that is a given if you calculate the fact that I still have an unwanted almost 30 lbs on me, but I am so much better today and I owe it to, not only my doctors, but the ab rocket which allows me to work my stomach muscles without forcing my degenerated spinal column to work. I LOVE IT!!

I am glad I did my homework, I was going to order it, but change my mine now. I have read the input about and to me is at 95% not to buy it. Also there are other companys and places that are selling for under $30 and $50 for it. I going to save this page for future references on others products that companys put out there. Keep up the good blogs.

I got the ab rocket since Jan, and been doing it few time. I think it was effected the first 5 time, but later on i began to wore out. The problem with this machine is that it's uncomfortable, break easy (brought a 2nd one since my supporter broke off the back & I didn't need to pay for the 1st oen i broke, which was great), and alsomy stomach get use to it have doing for 15-30mins straight. Gotta say, if you want to buy it, try it 30 days money back grantee, but it's not that changelle. Sitting on it for 15min on your butt is like sitting on a chair that you can go back and forth watching T.V.

I have had the ab rocket for a year now and i just started using it the last two weeks in march and have continued.. I work out four days a week and with that I have always eaten very healthy. I am only "5'2 so at first I had a little trouble positioning the ab rocket to fit me but eventually I got... I must say within exactly three weeks I saw results right ..It is a much easier for me to see results because i only weigh 100lbs and I only have about three inches worth of belly fat... but I can honestly say with all the ab machines I have had, this one beats them all of course you do have to eat healthy depending on your weight and what you really want to do with your body.... also try buying extra dvd's at target that include cardio workout it really helps

My abrocket arrived March 3, 2009. I have a goal to loose my gut by August for my Bahamas cruise this year. I use it twice a day and sometimes I just do like 150 sit ups in the morning and another 150 before I go to bed. I switch it up sometimes and use the work out tape that came with it. When working out with the dvd it's a much more intense workout, I usually just do the beginner level 3 or 4 times a day. So far I've lost a few inches, I went from a size 13/14 to 9/10. I still have a gut, but it's fading slowly. I am not on a diet, but I eat alot less now and I eat what I want. Im sure if I got on a diet plan I could loose the belly fat faster. But I am satisfied with the results thus far, I will keep my abrocket thank you.

AB rocket is complete TV scam. When you get i t- It looks like $27.99 cheap shops stuff. The machine has very lousy outlook. The springs are loose and you have damn strain in your neck and spine. The trick is: they show rigid springs while invite athletes to the program. These springs cost much more and it's hard to package in assembled feature because the customers never put the machine together. People are not aware that it's completely another machine on TV show. I've returned AB rocket on the next day but I lost half of money for the two shipping and custom duty (about $70)

well i have the ab rocket and for me its working fine. i dont have a layer of fat and i guess thats one advantage i have. plus i im 6'3 and it fits perfectly. but i have to admit that the ab rocket is not gonna burn any fat. i have to do cardio exercises in order to loose fat cause before i have my belly pretty big but with the cardio i lost alot of fat. in conclusion the ab rocket may work for some people and for some not.

    Hi Jo-Ann,
That's a good point you're making. Thanks for sharing your experience. I do recommend working with a solid and reliable abs program to get the finest results. Check out the TruthAboutAbs program and you will not experience the same problems as with the Ab Rocket Exerciser
  • Jo-ann Dec 15, 2008 @ 3:49 pm | delete
It is interesting they don't have an address. But I will find one. They should mention overweight people cannot use it, as you go straight to the floor. There is NO tension on even the stongest band. Also, if you have had the slightes back problem, you are in trouble. I am now seeing a back doctor, and back therapist. I never had this problem using machines at the gym. And I only used it for 5 minutes.

I'm sorry you're going through this experience and thanks for sharing it with us.
I do hope this doesn't stop your from doing what it takes to flatten your stomach. You should be proud for taking action in the first place.

As I said, I recommend this program: TruthAboutAbs which works wonders. Also, you have a solid money back guarantee with it, so there are no delivery or contact problems,
  • Shirltag Dec 8, 2008 @ 5:10 pm | delete
I ordered this machine without first reading reviews, which I am ashamed to say because I usually do my homework. I haven't even received it yet, and I already have issues with the company! They do not provide the total cost until they have your credit card info and you reach the final submit page, then it is done and you can't cancel it; in the final page you see that the cost is WAY higher than it should be - $119 for the machine alone, and the other free-trial stuff costs extra. Also, they provide no means of checking status of your order, and they provide no means of contacting them except a phone number that they never answer. I had decided to cancel my order, but that obviously isn't going to happen. I have a feeling it will be the same when I try to return the machine.

    Hi,
Of course, the program I reviewed is a competitor to the Ab Rocket, but I believe it's far superior to it, since it covers all of the elements you specified, while the Ab Rocket only covers abdominal exercises. Also, I believe it's questionable as to how well it does even that.

although ab rocket is not the sole key to getting the flat belly, it could be a helping hand to the puzzle, as cardiovascular exercise, and nutrition is important. The link you provided just looks like a competition, of other ab gimmicks and falls in that category.

RE: ladystlight1. I've heard that some company reps blog on as Joe Q Citizen to rebuff negative arguments about their product. Hmmm....just sayin'

    Hi Lauren,
I have nothing against the abrocket personally. I doubt their promises. I think that a plan like the Truth About Abs provides a much more complete solution.

Hello, i just want to say that i believe your right but i have actually tried this machine and i really liked it. I usually get neck aches and leg cramps when doing ab workouts at the gym, but when i used my mothers new ab rocket, i felt that it did help. But a flat stomach is achieved with plenty of cardio, ab workouts and healthy eating like you said.

    Hi Ladystlight1,
My point is that there are better alternatives to the Ab Rocket, and more affordable ones. And yes, I don't use ab machines in my workouts. I don't believe in them.
You're right, there's a lot more to losing weight and strengthening the body than an ab machine can provide. Without the proper nutrition and full body workouts results will not last, in my opinion.

I did say that some people enjoyed their experience with the ab rocket, but also that some didn't.
Anyone who wants to use the Ab Rocket is welcome to it. I don't have a link to its Amazon page for nothing.

The benefit of the Ab Rocket is that there is less strain on the back. Yes it works and it did for me and alot of my friends.
So be sure the next time you want to $%&^$ on a product be sure to remember that there is alot more to loosing weight and strengthening the body. Don't crap on a machine that helps aid a person in their goals.
I am sure that you use alot of machines in your routine. Do you crap on one of them? I didn't think so.
So please; don't deter someone from something that is actually good for your back and something that does help strengthen your muscles.
