Acer Aspire One 8.9-Inch Mini Laptop
The Acer Aspire is a nice powerful mini computer (kind of a sub-laptop) available at great prices. The Aspire is very hot on Amazon, and is considered a great Christmas present (especially by someone like me!).
It appears that mini computers will be quite a popular lot, especially given the advances in solid state disk (the same technology as thumb drives). While the Aspire is not a ROM disk computer, it's battery can usually last in the vicinity of 5 hours.
The Acer Aspice is an awesome entry level mini. My personal preference is for a Linux version, but I think you will find the XP home Aspire a nice machine. Take it to anywhere you can get a wifi connection, and you will be surfing the Net with no effort at all.
