Acne
A zit is a zit, right? Millions of people suffer from acne to some degree, and for those who have severe acne it can be devastating. Although acne has been called a teenage skin disorder, it can affect adults as well and even small children. It can lower self-esteem and be an embarrassment for those who suffer from it especially if it is an adult in the business world. First impressions are everything, and if you feel self-conscience, it will show. Therefore, treating acne is very important.

There are many different kinds of treatment for acne; skin creams, cleanser, pads, and even antibiotics, however for those who suffer from severe acne, the one treatment that has proven to be effective is Acne Laser treatment.

This treatment method is not for everyone who has acne, and your dermatologist or physician will recommend it as a last resort. It is typically recommended for those who have severe blotches and heavy scarring.

What Is An Acne Laser Treatment ?

Acne
Acne Laser Treatment can be used on the face and body, and is virtually a pain free experience. There may be some minor discomfort, however, for those who have undergone this procedure have stated that it was well worth it to have clear, healthy skin.

Acne Laser Treatment is a procedure that uses a special laser to remove the top layers of skin. These layers are affected most by acne. It is important to understand that although the treatment is effective, it can also be quite expensive and more than one treatment will be necessary in order to clear the skin completely.

An added benefit to Acne Laser Treatment is that while it removes the acne-affected skin, it also removes scarred tissue, giving your skin a new, pink, healthy look.

Acne Wikipedia

Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common skin condition, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland via androgen stimulation. It is characterized by noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules in its more severe forms. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles; these areas include the face, the upper part of the chest, and the back. Severe acne is inflammatory, but acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms.eMedicine - Acne Vulgaris : Article by Julie C Harper Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, blemishes, spots, zits, or acne.

Acne is most common during adolescence, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood. The cause in adolescence is generally an increase in male sex hormones, which people of both genders accrue during puberty.

For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear?or at the very least decrease?after one reaches one's early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to disappear entirely, and some individuals will carry this condition well into their thirties, forties and beyond. Anderson, Laurence. 2006. Looking Good, the Australian guide to skin care, cosmetic medicine and cosmetic surgery. AMPCo. Sydney. ISBN 0 85557 044 X.

The face and upper neck are the most commonly affected, but the chest, back and shoulders may have acne as well. The upper arms can also have acne, but lesions found there are often keratosis pilaris, not acne. Typical acne lesions are comedones, inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules. Some of the large nodules were previously called "cysts" and the term nodulocystic has been used to describe severe cases of inflammatory acne.

Aside from scarring, its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem and, according to at least one study, depression or suicide. One study has estimated the incidence of suicidal ideation in patients with acne as 7.1% :* Acne usually appears during adolescence, when people already tend to be most socially insecure. Early and aggressive treatment is therefore advocated by some to lessen the overall impact to individuals.
