Mutual Collaboration Magic
Today, social media options for promotion are increasing. Meanwhile, traditional advertising methods continue to decrease. But, why engage in mutual collaboration with other businesses? Answer - because in today's challenging economic climate, stretching the value of the dollar is extremely important. Your dollars go farther when you collaborate.
As the three circles in this diagram demonstrate, the way the world works is changing. People no longer connect directly with businesses through traditional means - newspaper, radio and TV - so much as they do online in the "Social Media" space. The solution is not to use Social Media at the exclusion of traditional advertising methods. But rather, to intertwine both through mutual collaboration.

The To-Do-List Board
Great Branding Idea for Networking Group Businesses

Every Chamber of Commerce should promote it's membership with a to-do-list board. Why? Because it costs the Chamber no money whatsoever. All the cost is shouldered by its advertising members. But, each template is limited to just 12 advertisers. Therefore, each advertiser gets the full benefit of being on the board for 1/12th the cost of doing a solo effort. Boards are designed in Kansas, but produced by the local FedX Office complex. For more information, call 707-709-8605.

Publication Print Advertising
This is the B&W version that most newspapers use.

What you are looking at is a quarter-page ad space with four ads in it. This is an actual ad. It was designed by Eileen Brown of Brown Enterprises. The ad was PR optimized by Lamar Morgan of CDMM.
To the newspaper and to the naked eye at first glance what your have is one ad - not four. That one ad space is paid for by CDMM on behalf of the four businesses listed in the space. So, each business listed benefits from being in a quarter-page ad space at a significantly reduced rate. But, that is not all. Each business is also PR optimized before being placed in that ad space. That means a special "buzz" was created to announce the upcoming placement of that ad in the newspaper via social media tools. Therefore, the presence of the ad in the newspaper is the culmination of a mini marketing campaign for each business listed in the ad. And, that translates to providing more "bang" for promotional dollars.

- Hi Lamar.
It's been fun working with you on the "List Boards" - I hope we have the opportunity to work together in the future. It is much easier and more profitable to have someone "selling" for you and bringing new folks into the fold of PR optimized collaborations. Keep up the great work!
