- Time will tell what the outcome for ASD,Bowdoin, Golden Panda etc.. will be.The fact is it's gone for now at least.I will say I was interested in doing it, I took my time in deciding, and that's when the mess started.Glad I didnt get involved, but I will IF they are venerated.I want to say that how ironic it is for the Govt. to take this to task when as stated above: the Govt. is the BIGGEST PONZI SCHEME EVER PUT INTO ACTION!! The whole Real Estate debacle, the BAILOUT of all the banking institutions etc..THEY ARE FUCKING US ROYALLY!! Oh, as some others put it, the SEC is investigating on behalf of our "best interest"-BULL SHIT!! I HOPE EVERY MAJOR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION FAILS MISERABLY!! I HOPE ALL THEIR EMPLOYEES LOSE THEIR HOMES,MARRIAGES, RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR CHILDREN etc,and if we're LUCKY, some JUST COMMITT SUICIDE!! I COULD CARE LESS!! - If an ASD member didn't have a web site to advertise ASD recommended signing up with paydot.com or mobillcash.com and then advertise your affiliate link through ASD, Dr Miller's tea was one of the more popular affiliate links advertised through ASD. If you go to the ASD news page you'll see the affiliate page there with the two sites ASD recommended.

- Jason you cannot compare V-lane and ASD. ASD merely tried to copycat V-lane.
V-lane has real corporations lined up that need advertising, branding and alexa rankings kept up, and are willing to pay for that service by having peope/visitors view and rate their sites. As a member of V-Lane Traffic/VIP, you get paid for that service, but you also get paid by what the company invests in various other offline areas around the world.

- Although this lens is very well made, to criticize ASD as being a ponzi while praising V Lane is completely hypocritical. The two programs are near clones of one another. If ASD is a scam, V Lane must also be called the same. Both are autosurf HYIPs that pretend to be advertising portals and pay handsome returns to the purchasers of "ad" credits. I suspect V Lane is about to also have some unwelcome attention from US authorities, due to many "investors" having ties to both ASD and V Lane. Just because V Lane has not fallen doesn't mean it won't. ASD also had a previous successful track record before its poor customer service invited federal complaints and thus killed itself.

She was known for being a scam buster.Mrs.V and Dr.Mara worked on putting there program for 3yrs before they went live. I believe many have tried to copy there model but they can't.After being scammed myself in the past.Mrs.V is the real deal and legit company. Being scammed is a awful feeling and I would never recommend a program if I felt there was a chance of being scammed.

- I am an ASD member :( and have a question. I've been looking at filing a civil suit against the company, Andy, et. al., but based upon your description of the probable next steps, it sounds like a civil suit is not necessary, assuming I can count on the USAG to handle this as you described. Is that true? I don't want to waste anymore money thanI already have on this mess, so don't want to go down another legal road if it's not advantageous.

- cindy if you would been watching this industry like I have for the past 4 yrs like I have. You would know I have no agenda. Like my quote said ASD is poised to hurt tens of thousands of people and cost them millions of dollars of loses. These are REAL people losing real money.
I also understood the risk if I put up this blog and eventually when ASD went down I would be hated
and that is OK,because we where able to help many from being scammed.

I tried to find info about this ASD venture B/4 joining but my sponser and I could not find any dirt at all, then later in the progression when the site was down I found a few forums like this one that deals with these type businesses.
Now as many other we wait to find the out come. Its totally my fault for not digging good enough and being lurd by the 100% match of the rally that got me started. I'm disabled and my wife just went thru thyroid cancer surgery and treatment and we had no business putting $1000 in .
It was just that a reputable business man had told my sponsor about the opportunity and I acted to hastily. Thank goodness for forum like this one that gets the facts out there.

two lessons for dumbasses out there: 1) if you need to pay money to make money and you do it you're a dumbass 2) if it seems too good to be true and you do it you're a dumbass 3) if someone is telling you you'll make ridiculous interest off of the initial principal and you buy it you're a dumbass.

I do feel bad for some of the ASD members because of this and that is why I started the blog to warn people of this scam, but they need to put the blame on Andy where it belongs.
If they declare that ASD is legal then anyone can and will start there own ponzi.

I, sir, have a different "testimony" from yours, and it's all negative. I don't have any other program to push. I have never been involved in any Internet business and because of my experience with ASD will never be again. I wasn't any good at "selling", because if I'm going to sell something, I need to really believe in it, as my good name is on the line. I just DO NOT believe in ASD. There have been too many red flags for me to feel that this program is legitimate. If you believe and want to push it until the cows come home that's your perogative. But to come here, Antonio, and THREATEN the author because you don't agree is just downright thuggish. You're behaving like a bully on the playground.

- After reading blogs for hours about this company, I decided that the testimony of the people involved in ASD is more valuable than the remarks of the people who seem to be internet advertisers or competitors. There are two things going on, one group working together to make new business and money and the other trying to stop them. It's pretty easy to figure out where the value is. I'll take positive people any day over the other destructive types. Money is always made in positive environments. Speculations about their business plans and attempts to put them out of business by supposedly knowledgeable people making inappropriate predictions seem juvenile and extremely unproductive. I reeaallly have serious doubts that any of those people are trying to help save someone else. What a contradiction to the reality about themselves they spew here.I think i'll join as soon as ASD

Yes if you can get in and get out quickly go for it, but be honest with yourselves, If you have a human sized brain then it's telling you there's just no way this is legit.
As for bashing the lens creator... thats just ridiculous. Most of the stuff he posted is from other sites with his opinion added in. The other half is just plain fact. Don't belive it? Its your money.

I have been in ASD since Nov. of 2007. I have alway s had problems with ASD. And a gut feel that they were corrupt.
Well, after a while I quit buying ad packs. Then I kept getting emails from my readers about it. Finally, due to a respected reader (Peter) I renewed my account to over a grand.
336 of that was from AlertPay. It took from July 10th to now to get that resolved. Now I got this message that ASD is now gone under! Pieces of shit!

Worst case scenario...you will get your money returned, but the scenario I see is that all you doubters that want to say "I told you so" will be saying, "Wow, this company did cover itself legally". When we make it through this bump in the road. The legalities of this company have been covered and it will now just need to be proven...once it does...It will be GOLDEN! So stop your whining! - I'm a member of ASD and have put myself on the line with the people I have introduced to it...I think it very unfair to publicize this type of dialogue & bashing, when so many stand to loose due to this unprecidented negativity. Do yourselves & everyone else a favor and consider all the damage you are doing to those that have put in their hard earned dollars...No one has been hurt in ASD yet, only speculation as to what may happen.

- I'm a single mom with 3 little boys, working full time, just got rear-ended in car accident, now cannot work for a few months, maxed out my last credit card ($1000) to give me a chance to stay above water with this new ASD venture, and gave me hope to eventually be successful enough to become a stay-at-home mom, surfing ASD and working my home-based side business. Just last year, the window company that I placed a down payment of $3000 shut its doors and took my money, and because of that, my French-student son couldn't use the other $3000 to go on a tour of France with his teacher and class, but chose to get our windows done with another company. The $600 reservation was non-refundable. Now, this! I feel like such a foolish idiot, who really thought I was beating the system. The window company owners keep evading the trials, and more money keeps going out of my pocket trying to get a judgment. I wonder when I will quit giving my hard-earned money away to frauds and thieves!

- I have to agree there are going to be quite a lot of people with eggs on their faces when the site is completely up and running and all the processors are running to capacity. In your criticicm of ASD you have not taken into account the problems that are always inccounted when a business grows this fast particularly, when it is completely internet based if you had any idea of the ligistics of managing 120,000 members ALL on line you would not be so quick to decry their ability to manage such a task, all the while contending with DOss attacks and hackers who are intent on making money for nothing. All Iam suggesting here is be patient a little while longer, I am confident you will, and are being, rewarded for your ability to recognize the start another hugely successful world wide business that we will all participate in. This is going to be a very exciting and last 6 months of the year. If you understand business at all you must understand that 120,000 members is powerful.ASD rocks

- Sorry mate Ithink you are barking up the wrong tree Iwould suggest you be very careful what you say, Ihave the up most faith in Mr Bowdein, he has the best interest of the members at heart and is about to open up the web site completely again so that we can start surfing again,as we have done for nearly 2 years. There seem to be a lot of people on here who don't understand the enormity of the job that has been under taken in the last 10 days. The growth of this company has been enormous, As a consequence of that ,it has required huge ammount of extra storage capacity. the old stystem has not been able to cope with the growth therefore it was imperitive that Andy take the time to up grade it. Over the past 10 days lots of knockers have crawled out from underneath from what ever they been under and trying there best to derail this company and it's founder. that's not going to happen people so go back to where you came from lol so we can return to asd to go surfing!!!

- Bringing up "schemes"...Enron and Arthur Andersen. Anyone remember this one? No one remembers that 4 years after the scandal in 2001, Andersen was CLEARED of obstruction charges. 28,000 people lost their jobs because the SEC was on a hunt. The same is happening to ASD.
ASD has been a positive, growing company with people hoping it will fail. Everyone thought Amway was a "scheme" too...look what happened to that company...still going strong.
I'm thankful that this blog has opened my eyes to not only the trouble with this country (no hope because of negativity) but the fact that to be successful, you have to feel happy about the success of others. I'm SO happy to see my friends and team thrive with ASD.
It is great entertainment but not worth reading the banter. Sorry I had to contribute to it. But again, I'm thankful!! Surf's up

EXCEPTIONAL job on this lens.
Yes, in the past 3-4 months, I've been approached TWICE about this 'deal'. First by a guy who always prefaces it with: 'This is the last deal I'm gonna do' type of lead in. He SLAMS people into so many deals and leave them to STICK or falter.
So...I knew I wouldn't even take a look.
The last was just a couple of days ago. This time I took a LOOK because he mentioned 'due diligence'. The last time I trusted him on doing this ended up costing me thousands and thousands of dollars, and a load of lost time.
IF I had promoted it as widely as planned, it would have cost me my CREDIBILITY.
Well...it didn't take LONG before I found out some BAD stuff. The sign up page (not the full site) was down and had been down for a WEEK!
Not a good sign.
More research revealed the PATTERN you speak of. I definiely won't waste my money with ASD. Thanks!

I can tell that you are an individual who is a true truth seeker. For that reason, I would like for you to re-read what Martial Artist wrote regarding suing. You wrote, "Now members of ASD threaten lawsuits on other members." To be fair, he never said nor implied a threat of a lawsuit against me. It can certainly be inferred that he was attempting to protect me from a $30 million (yeah right) lawsuit from ASD as well as his fear of the same. My biggest concern has actually been with the value of the advertising. I posted this one other place, but I think it would be useful to post here, too:
ASD sells incentivized advertising at $1.00 per view and as been pointed out incentivized advertising is typically the worst converting type of advertising. It doesn't matter HOW long some is required to view a site.
Marketing Experiments has an excellent conversion formula that is used as a predictor of conversion success for major corporations:
C=4M 3V 2(i-f) - 2a
where:
C = Conversion probability
m = motivation of the user
v = value proposition clarity
i = Incentive to take action
f = Friction elements of process
a = anxiety
You can see that MOTIVATION is weighted significantly more heavily than any other factor.
I've spent close to $300,000 on advertising over the years and the formula is typically dead on.

- 'm not sure how the courts would go on this, because it seems it hasn't been tested yet, but I would apply the duck test, if it smells like a ponzi and is run in such a way that is too similiar to a ponzi, then maybe this will be the flaw of the program when taken in comparison to some other multilevelmarketing program such as ACN...
It's on the borderline, seems like a hybrid scheme.
I would judge it by the advertising that is paid for by new members and whether they reasonably were trying to advertise or just to join into the ponzi part of the scheme.

Any program that pays out outrageous returns
to members will eventually.
Yes, you can make money here and in other programs if you
get in from the start. It's the late investors who always get
screwed over.
