Add Joe? Who in the hell is Joe

I just wanted to give a little background about myself, your new Facebook friend. This will tell you about where I live, what I do, who I am, and things I like. I thought this was the best way to do it so that you don't have to search around to find me. It does get confusing, and I don't think anyone would ever know who I am based on a web search. The picture isn't the best, but this is what I look like

And, yes I was too lazy to shave :)

A bit about where I grew up

gotta love Bingotown

Born on April 17, 1969 in Binghamton, NY (sorry this was my parents fault), I had no choice but to grow up there. I grew up in a normal family, with dad being a fireman, and mom being mom. I was blessed with some very good friends, in which all of them are still good friends of mine. Going through school was ok, did quite well there and knew after the long path of Mac Arthur Elementary, West Middle School and then finally Binghamton High School that my days in Bingo were numbered. But what next, I wanted to break free so came up with a plan. Sort of a get out of jail free plan, or better said a guarantee on getting out of there.

What was the escape plan?

my ticket to the world

When I was 17, I decided to join the Army. Of course I was still in school and had to finish, but this was a guarantee that I would get out of Binghamton for free!

So life began. I entered the military 4 weeks after graduation, and was promptly sent to South Carolina, where they shaved me bald and I was treated like a crap for 8 weeks. I was even called things that I did not know the meaning of. Once this wake up call was done, I headed to Georgia for technical schooling. I must say, the schooling to learn a technical skill in the military is quite easy. I think they could have trained a monkey to do my job. After a while there, the fun part of the adventure of life took place. Free ticket to Europe!

So what happened next?

a little bit about my adult life

Made it in one piece to Germany, and got stuck there. I severed 8 years in the Army while there in various places, and made it to wonderful places like the desert in Iraq, jungles of Somalia, city (or what was left at the time) of Sarajevo. However, which I can recommend highly, the military paid for just about all of my schooling. All the way through my graduate school I only paid a very small fraction of the tuition.

Now with a bit of adventure, and a fairly good education, I decided to try life as a normal person. This started off well, first working in civil service for the military, and then hitting the jackpot as being one of the first employees in that wonderful company called NetApp. Since then I have held various management positions in technology companies, mainly based on computer storage.

Enough about that...What about the family?

We are a big one with all of our pets..

Now to fill in the void that I still had I was lucky to find my wonderful wife, Sabine. We have been married now for just about 22 years, have 2 wonderful children, and tons of pets. We just love animals, so I will name a few.

3 - Irish Setters
1 - French Mastiff
1 - Chameleon
2 - Corn snakes
22 - Bearded Dragons (our paid decided to have babies)
7 - Koy
2 - Spider Geckos
a few ghost mantis

and I probobly forgot the odd one or two that are around the house.

If you ever need information about one of the above, drop me a message, I am very well educated on my pets.

That's about it
