About the Adder
The adder has a short, fat body and a short tail. The adder is green with a shade of brown with a dark zigzag. The females are usually more reddish. Adders live in most of Europe and across Asia. The adder is the only snake that lives north of the Arctic circle. They eat lizards, mice, voles and shrews. The young are born in August-Septemeber and during the winer they hibernate. Adder bites are poisonous to small animals but not fatal to humans.
