Lil' Jess

Lil' Jess (#35): Lil' Jess is a young-adult female who is readily recognized by her 'underbite'. Like all our Adopt-A-Dolphins she is also an Atlantic spotted dolphin. Lil' Jess is a very interactive dolphin who is sighted frequently and known to have an adventurous personality. She is famous for swimming fast, tight circles around snorkelers and DCP researchers. Lil' Jess has been known to hang out with Swoosh (ID#36) and Tina (ID#14). Researchers expect to see her pregnant soon!

Lil' Jess was named by the famous Rachel Ray in August 2004 as a gift to Jessie Harvey. Lil' Jess spends the majority of her time in the clear blue waters of the Bahamas, North-West of Bimini Island. DCP research associates spot Lil' Jess regularly during our annual summer research field seasons. Follow sightings of Lil' Jess on the DCP website.

Adopt Lil' Jess for just $30 for a full year. Please contact the Dolphin Communication Project's website for more information.

With Holiday Extras!

Adopting a dolphin through the Dolphin Communication Project is great out-of-the-box holiday gift. Okay, okay, we're a little biased, but our kits really do make great gifts. And by adopting a wild dolphin, you ensure that DCP is able to continue not only to research dolphins around the world, but also carry out all sorts of great education programs.

This holiday season our kits give you even more. First renew your dolphin adoption or purchase a new adoption from DCP between now and December 18th and we'll enter you into a drawing to win a signed copy of Dolphin Mysteries, by DCP Director, Kathleen Dudzinsnki.

Second, with all adoption kit purchases or renewals received before December 18th, will include a bonus - a free copy of our DVD, "Bridging the Ocean Divide." This 24-minute video features one of DCP's early education programs sharing our understanding of dolphins with students from Japan and the USA!

Happy Holidays!

Our Adopt-a-Wild Dolphin program

By adopting one of the Bimini dolphins, you will be helping to contribute to the Dolphin Communication Project's research, education and conservation efforts that will directly benefit the Bimini dolphins. The Dolphin Communication Project is a non-profit research organization studying dolphin behavior, communication and cognition. At our beautiful field site on Bimini, The Bahamas, we study a group of wild Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) that frequent the clear blue waters of the island. Using special underwater video and audio equipment, we have been able to identify and catalog many of the individuals comprising this group, learning much about group structure and dolphin social behavior. Adoption kits cost just $30 for a full year - that's less than $3 a month! We accept all major credit cards (phew!).

Top 5 Reasons To Adopt A Dolphin
