    I have adopted a number of shelter dogs, and they have been the sweetest dogs on the face of the earth, what a lovely lens.

    We adopted our dog from the Humane Society a few years ago. We were fortunate that the previous owners had not abused her. I knew we'd be taking a chance but it's worth it. She's part of the family now and couldn't bear to lose her.

    We have recently adopted a sweet little girl from a local rescue named Lola. She has been a lovely, beautiful addition to our family and I can not imagine being without her! I have a lens about Lola also.

    i think all dogs should be in shelters becuase they can get disesases very easily.

    Shar, this is a beautiful, loving Lens. what a great job you've done. All my pets have always been rescue animals, and animal welfare is one of my "Things"! So I'm grateful to you for spreading the word.

    Wonderful topic! I would adopt every one of them if I could. I already have 3. It kills me to think so many get put to sleep for no other reason than they don't have a home. Hope everyone sees this lens.

    A great lens, with a wonderful message. We adopted our latest dog, a Border Collie named Emily. Whoever left her go doesn't know what they are missing. She is a wonderful dog with a huge heart. She just gets into a little trouble once in a while (she can't help it)

    A great story - we had two Shetland Sheepdogs that we rescued 5 years ago, they had apparently outlived their usefulness at a puppy farm. We have one left now, he is very old. These two dogs gave so much joy to us, it is beyond belief.

    I did just adopt a shelter dog. His name is Eli. He's a Bloodhound mix. You can see his site at Squidoo. Just type Eli and Rambo into the search. Eli has been such a blessing to me. It felt wonderful to save a life.
