Welcome to ADVENTURELAND
There is a mix of Good and Bad rides in Adventureland. Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean are the better rides, with Swiss Family Treehouse and the Enchanted Tiki Room being the worst attractions. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin falls somewhere in between depending on your viewpoint.
Character Greetings include Peter Pan and Wendy, Aladdin, Captain Hook, Genie and a few others depending on what time you are there.
You can spend quite a bit of time in Adventureland if you wish but for most people it is really almost a walk through to get to Frontierland.

Adventureland - The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
This is located alongside the Swiss Family Treehouse. Basically a version of Dumbo but with flying carpets instead of flying elephants. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin was introduced in July 2001 and was the first permanent Disney attraction with an Aladdin theme.
You ride on board a 4 person Magic Carpet and circle the Genie's lamp. Riders can control the height that the carpet rides and also the pitch of the carpet. This is a suitable ride for younger guests and lines can be quite long.
Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer.
Length of Ride : 1 Minute 30 Seconds
My advice: Try to ride early or late in the day. Don't bother if lines are long.
My Daughters verdit: Ok first time round but boring afterwards.

Adventureland - Swiss Family Treehouse
If you don't like or can't manage stairs forget this attraction. This is a re-creation of the Robinson family's lost paradise. Experience rooftop living and see how they managed to adapt. There are lots of artifacts such as patchwork quilts, furniture, and running water to each room. Buckets full of water are lifted by a series of pulleys from below. If you are a Swiss Family Robinson fan you may enjoy this, if not you may be better giving it a miss.
Not accessible to guests in wheelchairs.
My Advise: Go when it is quiet, don't miss something else to do this.
My Daughter's verdit: Boring!

Adventureland - Jungle Cruise
This is a Jungle Cruise through a number of different Jungle River Scenes. Go through the African, Asian, Amazon and Nile Jungles. You ride in a Jungle Cruise boat with other riders. This is accompanied by an Audio track and various animatronics along the way.
You will see a number of different animals including baby elephants, hippos, lions and Cannibals. Younger riders may be a little afraid at first but will soon relax with a little reassurance.
Disney's Fastpass is in operation on this ride.
Disabled guests can stay in their wheelchairs. Sign language interpreters for the deaf are available on certain days.
Length of ride : 10 Minutes
My Advise: Can get very busy during the middle of the day, so ride early or late if you can or use a fastpass.
My Daughters Verdit: Good, Worth Riding, but I don't want to go again.

Adventureland - Enchanted Tiki Birds
Disney promote this as "Fun for Kids" and that is really all it is, some kids may not even agree with this. Launched in 1964 it has been updated but not really changed. Birds sing songs and thats about it.Length of show : 20 Minutes
Disabled guest do not need to transfer.
My Advise: Go mid afternoon when you want to get out of the sun and rest for a short while.
My Daughters Verdict: Boring.

Adventureland - Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is a must!Located in an imposing fortress at the far end of Adventureland just before you enter Frontierland you will find this marvel.
Recently updated to link it more with the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean films. Captain Jack Sparrow is a recent addition and pops up in many places throughout the ride.
Queues can be long but there is much to see as you go through the queueing area. At the entrance is a parrot that sings "Yo Ho" which you will get to hear throughout the ride and will stick in your head for the rest of the day. Except on the busiest of busy days the queue will be under cover and can be a refreshing break from the hot sun.
The ride itself takes the form of a relatively gentle boat ride with a couple of surprises.
Length of ride : 8 Minutes 30 seconds.
Guests in Wheelchairs must be able to transfer.
My Advise: Go Morning or Late afternoon, queues move quickly so timing is not critical.
My Daughters Verdit: Great!

Marketed as the official Disney Guide, this book is certainly very well polished. There are loads of full color photographs of the Disney Parks and Hotels with lots of information. The down side to all the photographs is that there is probably not quite as much in the way of hints and tips.

I wanted to live in the Swiss Family Treehouse when I was a kid! It's not as exciting as the rides but still a fun tour through the tree.
