Advice For Dating

I think I'm going to follow my own advice for dating. After talking to some girls today my problem came a lot more into focus. My problem is not necessarily following up my good pick up lines, it's reaching the conversational hookpoint. Where the girl would rather have me stay then leave. This can vary from 30 seconds to half an hour.

I remember hearing that during the initial phases you need to talk like 80% of the time, and then once they are truly hooked they start giving a lot more feedback and it lowers somewhere to 60-40 / 50-50.

I can do this occasionally, but not yet on a consistent basis. And the times when I DO do it, the shit that comes outta my mouth sure isn't canned material.

Having routines (interesting stuff that you say all the time that makes you sound good) for that phase is great. But if you're awesome at improv you can use that in conjunction with your routines to make holding your conversations a lot easier.

One of my best friends has been through some improv classes and not only did he enjoyed it a lot, he told me he got some much better at making conversation. It must be true because this guy is SO funny. He's always talking to everyone and NEVER runs out of things to say.

I thought it was just natural of him but that's not what he told me. He used to be extremely shy and not very talkative. I could NOT believe it! Improv helped him get out of his head and express himself. It thought him humor, a skill he thought couldn't be learned!

The best lesson he learned was not to care what anyone thought of him. And to move through the world without apology. To have the trust that whatever you say, everything is going to be fine.
