thanks for this tutorial about affiliate RSS feeds, Fluff. Making this RSS stuff a priority to learn right now and there's more options than I ever realized. I think Squidcasts have gone by the wayside now though, right? Might have to update/delete that portion.

Thank so much for explaining how to use the rss feed and its benefits, I really learn a lot and I will study more thank you for caring and hard work!!!
  • grandmamarilyn Apr 21, 2011 @ 5:19 pm | delete
This was great. Since you wrote this lens, ecrater now has it's own RSS at the bottom of each shop that you put in it. I have 5 shops in my grandmamarilyn's shop and it has an RSS at the bottom of each page. Weird that we have to do it by the page but it is better than nothing.

I've seen this kind of stuff before. I actually have an affiliate rss feed on freelance jobs from a website i'm promoting. I'm surprised on how these existed around me for a couple of years with me knowing until i found out last year in late 2010.

Affiliate Feeds are an excellent way to create automated niche content sites, but just make sure the top content of the site is unique and add a great footer, it will help you rank easy on search engines!... Great Lens!

Great tips--you helped me on a Squid-U new member question(s) I had, and I've found you again via 52 Week Amazon Lens Building Challenge by Tiffany Dow. The info is esp. helpful for the Amazon RSS--once I get into an old or new lens and update it (learn by doing) w/ your instructions. Thanks.

I use the Squidutils Amazon solution on my lenses so if you are in the UK and read one of my lenses AND want to buy something, you can go direct to Amazon UK via the link in the description you can add to each item you feature. It's really easy to do and I now have a little Notepad file with a skeleton Amazon UK link in there, all ready to add an ASIN and paste into a lens.
    Example in this lens

Yes, you can generate RSS feed for products from Amazon.co.uk.
  • BrianS Jul 21, 2009 @ 8:20 am | delete
Can you use the feeds if you are an Amazon affiliate in the UK, that would be really useful because the Squidoo modules are all dedicated as far as I can tell to Amazon.com which is as you know in the States?
  • poddys Jan 16, 2010 @ 5:02 am | delete
You can use your own feeds from Amazon UK in the RSS Feed module, that's what I do.
  • MarleyK Jul 13, 2009 @ 12:27 pm | delete
