Please Help Us Raise Funds For Aids Help In Key West, Florida

It's that time of the year again in Key West. Fantasy Fest - our version of
Mardi Gras with - just a bit more debauchery - is quickly approaching!

Fantasy Fest is a lot of fun but what a lot of folks never realize is that
it's also one of Aids Helps biggest Fundraiser. Each year 2 people are voted as
King and Queen of Fantasy Fest . It's Key West So as you may imagine - it's
definitely NOT gender specific!

The election process is very simple. Who ever raises the most money wins!
Winning is a lot of fun as you get to celebrate at the Coronation Ball, Be the
hosts of the Parade and get free fun stuff from local businesses, but the best
part is knowing how much has been done by you and your running mates for the
wonderful folks at Aids Help!

Who is Aids Help?


AIDS Help, Inc. is a non-profit community-based organization. They provide
case-managed health care, housing, food, counseling, referral and support
services for HIV-infected residents of Monroe County - AKA The Florida Keys.

The agency also conducts health education and HIV risk reduction outreach
programs aimed at reducing the impact of HIV infection throughout Monroe County.

Oh Yeah...Hurricanes are bad. - but...


While the hurricanes get a lot of press, and they should, they have a
terrible effect on tourism, just the mention of one and we are down to an Island
of just locals, plus they do a lot of damage to our homes, our businesses and
worse our precious reefs! Aids takes a terrible toll on this Island too!

Each Year we lose Sons and Daughters, Moms and Dads, best friends, Brothers and
Sisters, etc. to this dreaded disease. Why I'll bet you would be hard pressed to
find a local that hasn't been touched each year by the loss of someone close.

That's why we need your help. Please open your heart and your wallet and give up
just one Latte in exchange for a life.

lives of those that have been stricken with it so much easier!

In Key West we try to make sure everything we do is a lot of fun! And usually we succeed. If you've never visited our tiny piece of paradise at the Southernmost place in the continental 48 we encourage you to join us soon. It's
always a blast!

So who are Dave Taylor and Dr Sue Mauer:

Well... aside from being two of Key West's favorite residents, they are upstanding Key West Citizens!

Dave runs a Bed And Breakfast on Caroline Street - The Cypress House.

The Cypress House is hands down, my favorite place to stay on the island. The folks there are super friendly, the rooms are gorgeous and just spotlessly clean, they are famous for their "Extended Happy Hours" and Delicious Breakfast Buffet, mostly though... every time my wife and I stay there it's like coming home. We really do feel like part
of the family!

Dave Taylor has been in the Hospitality business for over 30 years and it shows. His attention to the details that make your vacation special are
admirable Dave is running for Fantasy Fest King!

Dr Sue Mauer AKA "Doc Sue" is the doctor to the Conch Masses!

Sue worked in The Emergency Room for years and then moved to 21'st Century Oncology where she cared for Key West's citizens that were sick with cancer. She left us for
about a year and decided to sail around the Caribbean, and has thankfully come back to Key West!

She now works at what is considered by most to be the least favorite place to spend your vacation: The Monroe County Department of corrections.

Yep - The Hoosegow!

By day Sue takes care of the folks that have gotten themselves caught up in stuff they shouldn't have. It really is a noble job, Sue has always taken care
of people that may have fallen on hard times, or have lost their way. Sue sees good in just about everybody, and has a heart as big as the legend of the Conch Republic!

Sue is running for Fantasy Fest Queen. This is the second time Sue has Run an she is determined to win this time!

We need your help.

While we would love to see Dave and Sue crowned King and Queen, this isn't about winning for us, it's about winning for the Aids Help organization.

Aids Help is a wonderful organization and they rely on fundraisers like this to cover a good chunk of their operating costs. They are a 503c charitable organization
