    I thought is was pretty cool myself. There are a few other vids out there that are pretty graphic in terms of what tantos are capable of.

    These knives look classy and high end, can be used for a long time without losing the sharpness.

    IMO these knives are excellent for self defense. They can hold a razors edge and it doesn't take much effort to put a hurting on someone.

    Hi,

    A lot depends on the style you are using, whether it be folding or fixed blade. As evidenced in some of the videos on this page, they are quite versatile and can be used for protection, cleaning or skinning animals, or any other task you might use a knife for.

    The usual care should be taken as far as keeping the handle and blade protected from moisture. There are light oils available for that.

    The biggest thing is that a good tanto will hold a razors edge, therefore great care must be taken when handling them.

    In other words., I wouldn't play mumbly peg with one.
