Latest to the iPod Family

Apple iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation 4GB

Cool things come in tiny packages in this iPod shuffle's case!!!

As if the 2nd gen shuffle wasn't small enough, Apple had to come out with the latest 3rd gen iPod shuffle.
Smaller than a AA battery and weighing at just 10.7grams, this device could be well mistaken for a snack in a crackerjack box.
Even the packaging has a smaller footprint. Decked out in a cool aluminum-anodized closure, the shuffle comes in 2 colors - sophisticated black and sexy silver.

The world's smallest music player also happens to be the world's first talking one.

Introducing VoiceOver.

Musically speaking, the new iPod shuffle is brilliant, thanks to an exciting new feature called VoiceOver. Say you're listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. With the press of a button, VoiceOver tells you as the music dips down. It even announces the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too.

Multi-music-lingual.

A French love song. A Spanish bolero. An Italian cantata. Your music library has songs from all over the world. That's why VoiceOver speaks 14 different languages. So it can tell you song titles and artists in the correct languages.

HTC Dream Vs Apple iPhone 3G

Welcome to the world where domination of the Smartphones rule.....
Given the list below is a brief comparison of the 2 most wanted phones in the market now. Nothing wrong with a healthy competition right? But eventually it's really up to you guys to make the final decision.

HTC Dream

Looks: With it's odd yet bulky design, the Dream looks like the ugly stepsister to the iphone weighing in at 158grams.

User Interface: Being built by geeks for geeks, the Dream's user interface is functional, but lacks form; a slight learning curve is necessary.

Multimedia: No video recording, no 3.5mm jack. Limited video formats playback makes the Dream a multimedia user's nightmare. Built in memory of 192MB plus an expansion slot with a 3.2inch display panel.

Camera: 3.2-megapixels it may be but image quality is mediocre and a steady hand is necessary for taking a picture.

Apps application: There are only a handful of applications, games, etc available right now, with most of them being free.

Apple iPhone 3G

Looks: The world's sleek and sexy are all you need to sum up the iphone weighing in at 133grams.

User interface: Those who have never used an iphone before typically will take to one like bread to butter with its easy interface.

Multimedia: The only video format supported is .mov but at least the video playback is smooth and clear. It can't do video recording either but at least there is a 3.5mm jack.

Camera: 2-megapixels may be a tad scrawny when compare to other smartphones out there, but it consistently gives out vibrant images.

Apps availability: In the App store, there are hundreds of paid and free applications, games and more waiting to be downloaded.

Lucid Touch

The latest on touch screen revolution

At Techfest 2008, Microsoft showed off a touch-screen technology for mobile devices which it developed with Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs. Lucid Touch solves some of the problems of small screen devices by allowing the user to hold it with two hands and use their fingers to navigate underneath a transparent screen. This allows for more precise pointing since your fingers won't cover what you are pointing to onscreen.

You can bring down a menu through this transparent screen

Touch is a compelling input modality for interactive devices, but touch input on the small screen of a mobile device is problematic because a user's fingers occlude the desired graphical elements. Lucid Touch is a mobile-device interface that addresses this limitation by enabling a user to control an application by touching the back of the device.

The key to making this usable is what we call pseudo-transparency: By overlaying an image of the user's hands onto the screen, we create an illusion of the mobile device itself being semitransparent. This pseudo-transparency enables users to acquire targets accurately while not occluding the screen with their fingers and hand. Lucid Touch also supports multitouch input, giving users an ability to operate the device simultaneously with all 10 fingers. We will present initial study results that indicate that many users found touching on the back preferable to touching on the front, because of reduced occlusion, higher precision, and an ability to make multifinger input.
