Introducing the Unconventional Alan Forrest Smith

Around 1999/2000 he ventured or stumbled into the world of Copywriting. Although he had done this kind of thing for his own hairdressing businesses Alan fell into it by accident. After reading literally hundreds of books and home study courses he launched Orange Beetle Copywriting online.

Is Alan any good? Copywriting Guru's like Michel Fortin seem to think so. In fact he was so impressed Alan used to work with him as a co-writer until he became totally swamped with his own list of clients.

Alan has also written copy for Jay Abraham group, Stephen Pierce, Ted Ciuba,  Marlon Sanders and tons more-famously well known names (some I am simply not allowed to reveal).

Now Alan is in a position where he takes on ONLY clients he really wants to work with.

Alan is currently on tour having travelled to all four corners of the Earth teaching, talking and lecturing about his skills.

All-in-all, pretty incredible stuff for a hairdresser!!

Is Alan Right?

Teladdiction and The Fall of Man

Your life can be so very different. In a second I will show you how you can be successful. First can I share this with you? It's something you really need to know if you want success in these turbulent times of recession-packed doom and news.

Honestly ...It's probably the most dangerous thing on the planet today. It's definitely the most addictive. It's has properties of influence more than most politicians or hypnotic masters. It is a super-expert of theft. It will pacify you in a second.

It's called ... Television.

In 1924 Scotsman John Logie Baird, an engineer and entrepreneur achieved his first transmissions of simple face shapes using mechanical television.

On March 25, 1925, Baird held his first public demonstration of 'television' at the London department store Selfridges on Oxford Street in London. In this demonstration, he had not yet obtained adequate half-tones in the moving pictures, and only silhouettes were visible.

Yet his almost messianic revealing of his invention was about to transform most of the modern world.

By the year 2008, today, it's plain for anyone with half a brain to see the measurable effect TV has on almost anyone.

In the hair salon people talk about their favorite TV show.

On the street kids emulate the skills of the BMX kings as seen on TV.

In workplaces people talk about at least one TV show from the previous night and fail to recall the other 7 shows that passed through their brains only to vanish into the recesses of blackness.

The average person begins his or her day by switching on the TV for a friend or for background noise or for more information on the bad news channel.

Then at the end of a working day most despise they come home and one of the first things they will do is switch on the TV again.

For a moment think about what you see on TV that you disapprove of?

Now ask yourself would you allow the person or thing that you disapprove of into your home?

Again ask yourself would you allow that thing you disapprove of to enter your home and train or teach your children?

The answer is interesting right?

Think about this.

What is your life based on? Your life is based on time. What is time? Time is an element that once gone cannot be recovered.

That means if we on average consume around 6 hours of TV daily we lose 2190 hours a year to TV. Yet on my global travels teaching, training and helping others I hear the same old thing and it's this ...

"I would do it but I don't have time"

How interesting. The thief of time is all consuming. It steals in the most stealth like manner that even the most perceptive of men wouldn't see it taking place.

Now here is the thing; imagine what you could do with that stolen time?

You could discover new business skills.

You could open your mind to exiting new techniques for wealth.

You could study the great zen masters of the world and emulate their peace.

You could embrace the world of nature and become and expert in almost anything.

You could take your life by the hand and lead it into something more meaningful, constructive and create a life you truly desire.

Can I share something with you about my working life and the biggest area of transformation I experienced?

Around 1999 I was still a hairdresser and salon owner. I like most others had surrendered my life to endless hours of TV.

I was of the mindset that told me I didn't have the time to learn anything new so I would not be able to get out of my job!

This was when I decided to do something almost revolutionary in my own life.

But it meant I had to take control to make this happen.

I decided to switch of my TV. Okay I admit I left it on in my home for my family but for myself I decided to move into another room and read, learn and with the passion of an Italian lover or the excitement of a 7 year old I began my quest to discovery new skills.

This meant endless hours of reading and doing and taking massive action.

Some nights I would be awake until 3-4am just practicing my new skills.

I would go to my hair salon the following day tired but fulfilled and still excited enough to repeat the process the next day and the next day and the next day.

Suddenly the fall of my own life to TV felt impossible. I had rediscovered time. I rediscovered a love of newness. It certainly brought me to life.

So now, today, just a short time later (to say from 2003 on would be right) I have the privilege of being viewed as a global expert and at the same time being paid accordingly for my skills.

Why am I talking about the fall of man and TV?

TV relates to the fall of man. Tv eats the time of man. The time of man is your life. If your life is being eaten by TV ... you are lost in the fall of man.

So what can you do?

Look switching off the TV isn't easy.

TV has an addiction related to the same addiction same drugs have. It's habitual in it's absorption of almost anyone the encounters it.

Yet like all addictions it can be broken, the habit can be reshaped. You can claim back your life and feel good about your life.

Am I saying TV is all bad?

NO... I am not.

I am saying if you want a better life a great first step to take is to look at the volume of time you have stolen from you on a daily basis and where and if you can, switch of your TV and redirect that time into what you really want from your life.

The good news is this.

I have already done this.

Others have already done this.

The rewards for you personally can be huge.

Your life is time, when time has gone it cannot be reclaimed.

It's your life. It's your time. It's your choice.

The addiction is the fall of man.

Is it the fall of you?

"Their copywriting is pitiful. Their designs don't work. Their layouts are unproven. Their idea of branding is costing you big time. Your marketing budget is being abused!"

"Your business deserves massive TALENT!"

The 7 marketing sins according to the book of Alan

1. Try some ads and hope they work (after all the advertisers say they will work so they should ...right?)

2. Write your own advertising with a coffee in one hand and some ideas in another (then ask everyone in your office what they think)

3. Never invest in at least 30 minutes of proven advice from an expert (after all what will they know about your business?)

4. Keep spending on advertising just hoping it'll work (the more you throw at it ... the more chance of it working right?)

5. Keep chasing new clients (because you have been told that's where the money is right?)

6. Never follow up on existing clients (hey, why advertise to people that spend with you already, seems pointless)

7. No planning (because you are too busy making your business work to spend hour after hour planning)

Guru?

According to the dictionary a guru is: A teacher and guide. A trusted counselor and adviser; a mentor. A recognized leader in their field. An acknowledged and influential advocate.

Imagine how much money you could make by learning from just one Internet Marketing guru. Now imagine how much more money you could make by learning from dozens of Internet Marketing guru's.

I am sick and tired of Internet Marketing directed at newbies who are getting started off on the wrong foot, or getting ripped off!

So much of the information being sold out there is neither helpful, nor real-for the most part. Most people selling "how to make money on the Internet" have never made a penny on the Internet except for selling ..."how to make money on the Internet crap".

Let me ask you a question. Would you have brain surgery done by a doctor who has never actually performed brain surgery before (but wrote a book about it)?

Of course you wouldn't.

Would you fly in an airplane with a pilot that had never flown an airplane before, but had written a book about how to fly?

Of course you wouldn't!

Then why in the hell do people buy information about how to make money online from people who have never made any money online? Do you see how completely idiotic that is?

Choose your influences wisely from people who are walking the walk, and then, work like fury to make it happen, Nobody will give you what you need-Guys like Alan know that, but they are there to help you out along the way, you just have to go out there and grab your opportunities for yourself!!

Have I been knocked down by a truck?

I recently attended the Entrepeneur's Bootcamp in Bournemouth where Alan was one of the "Surprise speakers"
I can honestly say that I have never been so motivated , from the first strains of Sanctuary by The Cult, to the last ringing tones of Alan's lecture, (delivered at high speed in his inimitable scottish brogue-and yes, we did find out what was under the kilt!!) I was on an information high which I have still not come down from.
Thank you Alan for the strategies and information you shared with all of us that morning-I am now on a roll, Onward and Upward!!

Marlon Sanders says.......

My Favourite Alan Lesson.....

On 16 August 1977 in a mansion in Memphis Elvis Presley died.
Where were you? Can you remember? I was in a mobile home in Wales on holiday with my family.

In fact it was the day my brother Ste, myself and my dad had planned to go night fishing along the Welsh beach.

We decided to carry on and go regardless of the death of the King.

So me and Ste, my bigger brother by 14 months, went outside and packed our fishing expedition tackle.

4 long beach casting rods, two multipliers and two Shakespeare fixed spool reels.

We were ready to land a whale. Well actually, we were on our way to famous Bass fishing beach named Dinas Dingle, in Wales.

It was just a walk of around half a mile from the mobile home along a shingle man made path full of holes and treachery for cars.

Finally we arrived at the beach. Can you imagine the excitement of two young lads, their dad and the prospect of sitting up ALL NIGHT next to a campfire fishing? HOW COOL!

When we arrived, after reading my anglers world I felt I had enough knowledge to go out there and pull in some whoppers.

All set up I pulled back my fishing rod and with a massive swipe forward I cast out my bait.

After the lines were out into the evening surf myself and Ste my brother, collected wood for a beach fire.

Fire now on. Camp set up. Toast over the fire. Meat on the spit. We sat there with the excitement of a children on Christmas eve waiting for the line to pull, the rod to bend, the first big catch.

We sat there. Nothing happened.

We changed bait. Nothing happened.

We moved positions, still nothing happened.

This lasted through the cool dark August night until around 6am.

Then the next morning an old man walked onto the beach. This guy was probably quite small in height, looked a little what you'd imagine Santa to look like.

Fat with a long white beard.

In his left hand he carried two rods ready to fish with.

In his right hand he carried two buckets. One red, one blue.

So as you can imagine we were freezing, he was looking over at us like we were fools. He smiled and raised his hand to us, we did like wise.

To get to the point, the Santa look-a-like cast his rod into the early morning surf.

After his cast had been made, he stood back and lit his pipe.

Now remember this; we had been fishing with top class equipment all night long. We had also caught NOT A TADPOLE.

Continued..............

The Lesson Continues........

Within minutes, the old Welsh guy pulled in a what look like a monster fish to me. It was in fact what we had been fishing for all night long ... BASS!

Imagine what we felt when we saw that in action? We totally freaked!

He pulled out another, and another, and another and another.

"Dad" I said, "please go and ask him what we are doing wrong?"

"18 Inch Red Worms!"

Now my dad is actually pretty shy. However under pressure from us he walked over to this old guy with the long white beard and asked him his secret.

Dad said ... "what equipment are you using?" The old guy told him about his rod, reel and other bits of fishing tackle he had.

To dad it didn't make sense he was catching and we weren't. Our equipment was obviously better than the old guys.

Then the old guy said to my dad in a deep welsh accent..."see that red bucket there? grab some worms from it and try again"

Dad put his hand into the bucket. When he pulled it out on the end of his hand were worms around 18 inches in length, bright red and around an inch thick, BLIMEY!

The old guy then said ... "stick that on your hook and watch what happens"

We did exactly as he said.

Within minutes of casting into the cold surf, we had caught our first large Bass.

So now, the marketing lesson from ...

The Old Man, The Welsh Beach and The Big Worm.

You might have the greatest, latest, fastest, coolest, state-of-the-art equipment on this planet but if you don't have the right bait ... you'll never catch any customers.

I've seen this time and time again. Literally hundreds of thousands being spent on the flashest offices ever.

State-of-the-art computers, telecom systems, office decor, staff trained to the hilt yet ...

...Yet when it comes to bringing in the right bait MOST BUSINESSES FAIL! FAIL! FAIL!

Where do you get the bait from?

The Welsh guy had to dry to a lonely distant place to get his worms. These were specialist worms. EFFORT AND SKILL was needed to find them.

Your Bait Is Here ...

A GOOD copywriter/marketing genius/advertising specialist with a good. well informed, creative mind has YOUR BAIT.

They should be competent enough to find out EXACTLY what it takes to feed your prospects so that THEY BITE and you increase your sales.

Rules from this lesson.........

Want me to give you some rules?

1. NEVER allow an office person to create your bait.

2. Never try and do it yourself unless you are a sales expert.

3. Never hire a sales expert unless you do your homework believe me ... most self proclaimed experts ARE NOT experts.

4. MAKE SURE all of your campaign can be measured for results and fine tuning.

5. LOCATE an outside thinker that can be objective about what is really going on with your marketing.

Remember, marketing is never as easy as the manuals tell you. However you are probably very hungry for success.

If you'd love to work with a eccentric, creative, non conforming marketing genius with a long track record my contact details are here.

Hope this helps you.
