I've been attending the meetings in the nonlinear for awhile- it is nice to have found the group 'in the flesh'. Glad Ulysses is in good form- he has more work to do! (I can relate to that :) It's amazing how animals will go through things for/with us, so we don't have too- so our experience is that of unbidden love.

- I have always thought that alcohol gets a pass, and yet, it can be fatal on the first try. Every year, students are killed due to a one time drinking binge. Sad. My neighbor across the street went to a party with his wife. She drank and drove home. Crashed, she was killed. He lost everything. Society has demonized cigarettes. Hmmmmm.

- my mom was an alcoholic, and she died suddently at age 50 after a blood vessel burst in her brain, after several years of blackouts and peripheral neuropathy (she had lost the feeling in her extremities). she made my childhood a hell. I have been a teetotaller all my life because I was afraid I would follow her lead. at 55 I've outlived her by 10% already, and hope to live to see my future grandchildren as she did not. I always feel grateful when I hear about people who have escaped from this curse. Good luck!

- I'm moved by your story. Your "Overcoming". I wish I knew the exact difference between those who are able to quit and those who aren't.
But what most intrigues me is your introduction. Your mention of the "judgement" that keeps you from healing 100% (if I interrpreted it right). Alcoholism and drug abuse are quite easy to point fingers at. There are many other problems people have, that are equally destructive that are never known because they cannot be "seen". So, yes I'd agree alcoholism is judged heavily.
I can't say how glad I am to read your story of overcoming and I hope that 100% complete healing is yours. Thank you so much for your transparency and story.

- I don't agree with you, why? Spirtual Healing is just a front for you. An alcoholic is an alcoholic, there are no excuses, no justifications, you are what you are.
ANY ALCOHOLIC HAS A CHOICE!!! ANY ALCOHOLIC WORTH SAVING WILL MAKE THAT CHOICE. Julie xxx
