I Restore Harmony

I Am An Artist of the Spirit

Turning Darkness Into Light With My Golden Compass

My day begins at sunset, when the sun goes down into the world of po, the world of darkness. I get my inspiration from the night, from the unseen realm of the gods. I journey within and dive down deep to emerge enlightened. When the sun rises I regain consciousness and return to the world of ao. A new dawn grows in the light as I begin to walk my dream.

Memories return to me in symbolic images. I recognize the signs as omens sounding from the depths within. I am a seer paying attention to the memories that haunt me.

All of my power comes from within. I bring the invisible forth into the world of sight. The unseen becomes seen as I restore harmony by exploring the depths of what has been hidden from view. Healing comes in the form of relationships. Relationships within, with others and with the environment.

I am an Artist of the Spirit practicing Shamanism, Hawaiian Healing Arts, Huna and String Figures. My storytellers bag is filled with healing. I enchant you with my stories as I pull out my alethiometer, strings and other divination tools.

I invite you to wander through this lens and discover the healing art of alethiometer reading. Experience how I use my golden compass to restore harmony.

Turning The Tides of Time

I enter the theatre of memory. A stage where the past, present and future comes alive. The unknown becomes known as the tides of time are turned. The only thing that I can count on is change. I look at the symbols and ask myself two questions: What does it mean to me? What am I going to do about it?

I bring with me the Huna Philosophy. The Hidden Secret. Not forbidden but often concealed from view. I am aware that everything is alive, aware and responsive as I open my bag of tools and begin my healing work.

Divination

Divination does not so much tell you about the future. It tells you more about what is hidden deep within. I use this tool to give me insight into the questions that I have. I am always in the present when making changes. Now is the moment of power. I can always change the way I think about something. Thoughts of the Past and Future are changed in the Present. I use divination to give me insight into the process of restoring harmony as I change future fears into confidence and past anger into love.

My Storytellers Bag

My storytellers bag has many knotted cords. Each knot holds a story. Each knot is a healing tool. I see everything as a symbol. Every symbol holds a message if I take the time to listen.

Many of us are looking for the ancient secrets, the stories of old. I must admit that I was not there and I do not know. We don't really know what happened in the past. Much of the ancient knowledge has been concealed, forgotten, changed or adapted when it comes to us today. The many layers of meanings in these songs of old may only be known to the composer.

I Can Tell A Story With A Piece Of String

I can tell a story with a piece of string, read your sorrow in a cup of tea, inspire your future in a deck of cards. I can use anything as a divination tool. I can do this because I believe. I believe in the magic of imagination to give us insight into the subconscious, insight into our soul.

I Can Tell A Story Using My Alethiometer

A Huna Point of View

I practice a philosophy called Huna. It has seven ideas that I will share with you as we explore how I use my alethiometer in divination.

1. The World Is What You Think It Is (Be Aware)
The alethiometer is a tool that helps you tap into an awareness of what is possible. The messages that you receive from a reading will be meaningful only to the extent that they resonate with you and the way you look at the world. So the message that you resonate with will be the truth for you.

2. There Are No Limits (Be Free)
We are all connected and anything is possible. There are no limits to your imagination. In reading the meanings of the symbols you are not limited to the three associations that are given. There are a multitude of associations that can be made for each symbol.

3. Energy Flows Where Attention Goes (Be Focused)
The alethiometer is an energetic device that helps you to focus. First you focus on a question. Then you focus on the possible answers. I like to ask two questions when I receive a reading: What does this mean to me? What am I going to do about it?

4. Now Is The Moment Of Power (Be Present)
The answers you get from the alethiometer are only about the present.
They are your present thoughts about something. You are looking at the past and future from the present moment. We also know that your thoughts can change. The alethiometer gives you insight into how you are thinking NOW in this present moment.

5. To Love Is To Be Happy With (Be Loving)
I look at readings through the Spirit of Aloha. I do not read doom and gloom into my messages. I focus on what I want and not on what I don't want. Alethiometer readings can help me understand how to best proceed.

6. All Power Comes From Within (Be Confident)
The alethiometer is a truth measurer. If truth lies within, the person asking the questions holds the answers. The message that you resonate with will be the truth for you. A seer only facilitates the reading. The Power of the reading comes from within.

7. Effectiveness Is The Measure Of Truth (Be Flexible)
There are many ways to interpret anything. If you get a message from the alethiometer that makes you feel uncomfortable. Change it until you feel better. There is always another way to do anything.

Using Symbolic Associations

Once upon a time I was a speech language pathologist working with children who used technology in order to communicate. One of the augmentative devices used symbols that when selected spoke the intent of the child. The process of programming the symbols involved associating meanings with the pictures. The picture of a red apple could have many meanings.

The association of apple as food:
I'd like an apple please.
I really would like to eat now, I'm hungry!
I could go for some nice juicy fruit.

Apples have many associations. They are food, fruit, delicious, juicy, red, round, shiny and smooth. They are forbidden (as in the garden of Eden). Apples are placed in a pigs mouth. Apples are on the head as a target to shoot at. They grow on trees. They have an outer layer that can be peeled off. They have a core with seeds inside and a stem on top. We hold the image of worms coming out of the holes in an apple. What about the saying: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Horses love apples. Give an apple to your teacher (knowledge). Snow White's apple. A is for apple. The list of associations grow as you think about it. What if you combine symbols? The list grows even longer.

The alethiometer also uses the method of symbolic associations to convey a message. This is not a new technique. It has been done from ancient times.
