Alex Jeffreys and The Guru's Dream

The Guru's Dream is a book about Internet marketing written by Alex Jeffreys. Alex Jeffreys comes from Cardiff in the United Kingdom and is just 28 years old but has already made his first million on-line.

The Guru's Dream is about three things.

1. The so called millionaire lifestyle, which involves tropical beaches, cocktail drinks, and bikini clad babes.

2. How this dream is a myth because whilst you can work just a few hours a day you still must work.

3. How the new social media models, (Web 2.0, so called), are changing the ways that people suss out good products.

The book goes on to explain ways in which it's possible to draw a market's attention to you, and what you offer, by using new social media. One method, which Alex Jeffreys calls 'Oil Rig Hopping' involves visiting the blogs of popular people in your field and posting a comment there. If your comment has value it's possible that you will attract the attention of the blog author, or at least some of his followers and they will come to read your blog, or contact you.

A lot of the book is about Alex Jeffreys' personal journey as a businessman and Internet marketer.

He frequently travels to conferences where in late night 'sessions' he quizzes experts on the latest cutting edge developments in Internet marketing. In the Guru's Dream Alex Jeffreys claims that Internet Gurus advised him to sell people what they wanted to buy, rather than what they need. For this reason he wrote 'The Guru's Dream' which he believes is what people need, but don't want to know.

The fact is that buying push-button systems won't give you an Internet business that can grow, and which is sustainable. Alex Jeffreys makes this clear.
