ALEXANDRA GRITTA
Alexandra Gritta, a young girl with a love for horses and a desire to help them through writing a series of books...this is what Alexandra is all about.
Young Alexandra is an exceptionally gifted girl, not only is she a talented writer, she's an amazing artist in her own rights, also athletic, plays an instrument, does extremely well in school, has traveled half around the world, speaks French, writes poetry, had her earlier books from the age of 7 included in permanent collections at her school and community libraries.
Her interest in writing has been in the forefront starting with a school project for a little book "Mystery at Silver Key Stables". I replied to a request for illustrations on an art group site that I belong to...as I read the letter I remembered myself as a 12 year old and my love for horses, in particular drawing them, and always wanting to help or save them, but no one took me seriously. It then occurred to me, that this would be a perfect time to help fulfill a young girls dream by donating my art to her project book, and at the same time I'm helping to save horses...this through the proceeds from the sale of her books.
Already the second book Élan, Journey of a Stolen Horse is in the works...I'm excited in helping illustrate this book....the series will be called Charity Book Series®
Awards and Honors are already accumulating for this young lady...including a nomination for the 2009 ASPCA Henry Bergh Charitable Book Award for her book "Mystery at Silver Key Stables".
