Being a huge airsoft fan I figured this lens could be your one stop airsoft guide. I will cover the guns, ammo, accesories, and battle strategies. Also find out where to get the best deals on airsoft gear.
Airsoft Guns and Gear
Where to Buy
1) HobbyTron
has great deals on Airsoft Guns and you can save 3% on your order with coupon code (SAVE3D)
2) Pyramyd Air
my favorite site to buy airsoft guns from. Crystal clear pictures with lots of detailed info. Don't forget to click the (Want to get 5% off) in the top right corner. You just make a suggestion about their site and you get the coupon.
3) Airsoft Guns on Ebay is another place to look.
4) Airsoft on Amazon
best part is reading the reviews left by people who already bought the guns. They are located at the bottom of the product page and saved me many times from buying a crappy gun.

Medium priced airsoft guns
So you've played with the cheap mini electrics or the pull back spring pistols; and now your ready for some more powerful airsoft guns. All the guns below are top quality and won't break the bank. Click pics for more info.
Crosman Pulse R72. I love this airsoft gun since it can hold 375 shots, has semi/full auto capability, and nice velocity of 275 fps.

CQB Navy Seal MP5. Fires at 260fps and comes with 2 high capacity magazines of 150rds and 500rds; plus get 2 stocks. Priced at $110.

SDR6 is a full scale model that holds 300 rounds and shoots at 340fps. For only $100 bucks this gun is a great deal.

Mini-electronic machine gun
Under $30
These are the most common airsoft guns that you see at WalMart. They are usually clear, take 4 AA batteries, hold 50 to 100 rounds, and shoot between 150 to 175 FPS. I find a AR15 Mini Assault Rifle Airsoft Gun thats non-clear
for $17.97. You might be able to pick up the clear ones at Wal Mart for about the same price.
Because of the low FPS you will need to be fairly close when battling with these guns. We found them most effective when battling inside. Running around the woods with these guns is not effective unless you designate very close boundaries. They are fun when you first start out and I was surprised how well they hold up.

Ammo
If you are just starting out, I recommend getting the below .12g 10,000 pack of yellow plastic bbs. They work good in the mini-electrics and are only $12.

For more accuracy but the .20g bbs. They are heavier so they fly straighter, $14.50 for 5,000.

Great accuracy with the CyberGun 625 .25gram bbs, $17 for 2,000.

Be sure to stock up on these speed loaders. You will need them in the mist of a battle. This loader has .20gram glow in the dark bbs.

Don't Make These Mistakes
These tips will save you money and frustration
1) Never assume the airsoft gun your thinking about buying is electric and will shot semi or full auto. Many times I will be browsing guns and see a sweet looking one that shots at a high FPS(feet per second) only to find it is spring powered. Spring powered guns are great for target shooting but will get destroyed in a airsoft battle.
2) Be careful of buying guns at a flea market. Most of the time they will be dirt cheap and you'll think you're getting a deal but usually they suck. One time I bought a bunch of airsoft guns at a flea market and they all broke after a few uses.
3) Airsoft ammo comes in .12 gram and .20 gram and are 6mm of plastic. Most guns will fire more accurately with .20 gram ammo. .20 g ammo is more expensive but it is worth the greater accuracy. You don't want your opponents having any advantage on you.
4) Always wear eye protection! I recommend full face, head, ears, and neck protection be worn when you are having your airsoft battles. Most people don't like keeping their safety mask on when they are loading and taking breaks between battles but you really should. Airsoft guns are not toys and can cause serious injury if you aren't protected.
5) Always leave the orange paint on the tip of your barrel! Airsoft guns look very realistic and in many states its against the law to paint over the orange tip. The orange tip lets people know its not a real gun. People have been shot in the past by law enforcement since they modified the tip to make it look like a real gun. Don't mess with this.
