All Things Ethan
Ethan is my first born and as such was our first named child. Neither my husband nor I wanted a junior or a II though Ethan did inherit my husband's middle name.
Surprisingly with of all the pressures one would expect in being pregnant and anticipating a first child, picking the name seemed to be higher on the list than I expected. Unrealistic fears developed as to how a name would influence our son's development and eventual success in life. Of course the process, itself can also make one certifiably nuts. Does it matter what the name means? How important are initials? Do you choose a unique or popular name? What if your best friend just named their child your favorite name? Do you share your name ideas with family? friends? co-workers?
I have a family of teachers and they can be detrimental as you gradually announce possible names of a child. Soon the stories of all the less than perfect kids with that name start swaying you from the name you were rather partial too.
So, we finally settled on Ethan! Though with both of our children, we waited until the morning after their birth to make the final decision and name announcement.

Yes. it is expensive. In my opinion it is worth every penny. We bought this shortly after Ethan was born and haven't regretted it for a minute. There are so many different activities on the Learning Home. As Ethan grew, more and more features became apparent to him. It was great to watch him open the window and peak through, master dropping balls down the water spout, get the mail from the mail box or put the shapes in the 'door sorter'. He still loves crawling in through the door, turning the light on and off and ringing the door bell.

This has to be one of the best toys...and so simple. Ethan loves to stack and next objects. I bought these with the hope I'd get my measuring cups back. Well, he still likes the measuring cups but these are fun. The bowls interlock to form balls. Ethan loves to hide toys in them.
