But did you know I am also an amateur photographer?
And that I am passionate about creating unique, ethnic-inspired jewelry?
Or that I am a published poet?

Find out all about my many creative pursuits by reading through the sections below.

Tammy's Background

Artist Bio & Statement

Tammy Winand was born in York, PA in August 1968. She graduated from Dallastown High School in 1986 and attended West Chester University, where she studied French and creative writing. She relocated to central Florida in 1992, and lived in Kissimmee, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and Madeira Beach until autumn 2006.

She spent nearly two years living and working in Albuquerque, NM followed by the Grand Canyon and then Grand Teton National Park. She has also lived in Ireland and the United Kingdom, with visits to Provence and Paris in France.

Her next two assignments are winter season in the Florida Keys, probably followed by Maine.

Tammy's interest in an artistic career developed during junior high school with a passion for writing, but as an adult has focused mainly on visual arts.

Several of her poems have been published by literary magazines, and she has sold acrylic paintings, polymer clay figurines, and original jewelry.

Artist's Statement

Artist's Statement:
My work focuses on connections. The connection between the past and the present, between different cultures, between man and nature, even between colors and forms.
I am strongly influenced by the architecture and pottery of ancient Mediterranean and Celtic civilizations, by sacred spaces, the lifestyle of modern "exotic" lands, and by the power of nature to reclaim what man has built into the landscape.
My goal is to translate my life experience and journey through symbolism which can be interpreted by a broad audience.

Tammy belongs to a unique group of individuals who world-renowned author Barbara Sher refers to as "scanners". These are highly intelligent, creative souls who enjoy learning, travel, and new adventures, but have trouble choosing among their various passions as a career path. Now they don't have to!

With the amazing internet tools available today, Tammy (and many others like her) has designed a variety of webpages which feature her work.

What I'm Working On Now

a brief overview of current projects

Updated May 13, 2009

I am blogging about my feelings, beliefs and concerns for this country and the world. Just Real Life and what small but hopefully effective part I am seeking to do about it
On a more personal front, I am re-recommitting to a healthy diet, sleep schedule and to staying active in order to be a happier, more productive person.">
