"Dramatization"

Alas it was Valentine's day again aka Singles Awareness day, and I was alone with a box of chocolates I bought myself from the store. What is a girl to do in times like these...improvise!

The Experience

The dreaded day was coming near for me and yet again no valentine. thoughts rushed through my head like , "Why can't a girl get a phone call!?!" And other things that definitely don't help when attracting suitors, but I finally one day looked on facebook and received an invitation to a valentine's day event. Valentine's day ended up going great! My family came to visit me and we spent the day together. I took them to a restaurant in town they hadn't been to before, we went to an event called Step into Africa that dealt with AIDs issues that are occurring over there and we even got to sponsor a child. At the end of the day I finally got to go to my long awaited event. A group of my single friends and I got together to watch the movie Troll 2 and feast on desserts everyone brought. It was awesome and the movie was fantastically bad!

Taking care of your heart

Physically and mentally

take the time to do something you want to do:
get a massage
do something you usually may not be able to do
fix yourself a gourmet meal or order out!
go on a hike
a bike ride
go see a movie
Whatever excites you that you can think of!

Bring back your commitment to health
February is the American Heart Month

Think creatively about a healthy dish and dessert that you can make on Valentines day:
Ex. What do people eat a lot of times on Valentine's day
Chocolate
Pasta
Icecream
Cake/Brownie
Steak
Take something you think you will make for Valentines day
For example you want to make a dessert, maybe try things like
fruit, a dessert with a sugar alternative, chocolate especially dark, and varieties of nuts.
So maybe you can make fondu and have fruits and nuts to go along with it ( I know its kind of a lame example but you get the idea )

If you have something in your life that you want to change or something you know you need to deal with take the time to set realistic goals or talk to a trusted person about it.
'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Mark 12:31

If you believe in God take time to rekindle that relationship through:
Prayer
His Word
Trusting him
" Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Mark 12:30

Taking it to the streets

There are other single people out there

Some of the things that come to my mind when I think about what single people could do include the movie/dessert night. Another thing that comes to my mind is something Nuci's Space did. They held a Heart breaker's ball at a place downtown called Little Kings. There are a lot of things to do you just need to look for them.

Spreading a little love

to the earth and mankind

Something else that will make your heart feel good is to volunteer or do community service on Valentine's day.
Volunteering is something I use to get my mind off of myself and what better day to do it than Valentine's Day... of course its something that should be a part of my life all throughout the year but Valentine's day is not an exception to that.
