Amazing Fantasy #15 For Sale: Spider-man

In March 2011, Amazing Fantasy #15 made history by becoming the first Silver Age comic book to sell for over one million dollars. The record $1.1 million dollars a collector paid for the comic in CGC grade 9.6 (out of 10) was nearly 5 times larger than the highest price previously realized for the sale of an Amazing Fantasy #15 comic.

The record sale means Amazing Fantasy #15 now sits as the 2nd highest price ever nabbed for a comic book behind the $1.5 million that Action Comics #1 (1st appearance of Superman) sold for the year before. However, when you factor in the fact that the Action Comics comic book is over 20 years older than Spidey's first appearance... and much, much rarer ... the $1.1 million dollars for AF #15 becomes even more eye opening. Clearly it is a comic that collectors are deeming to be a great investment for future generations.

While most fans will have to settle for a copy in a lower grade than what was seen at auction, if you ever see a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 in any condition you might want to snatch it up!
