American Girl Addy Doll, Book & Accessories

Addy's story really comes alive in this collection. Arriving in an outfit reminiscent of the Civil War era, she also brings special items, such as her cowrie shell. She's soft and huggable, with hair for styling. Plus, her adventures begin in the Meet Addy book

Addy Doll opens up a whole world of play with authentic styles from Civil War times:

* An old-fashioned striped dress in cinnamon pink
* Stretchy black stockings, drawers, and cap-toed boots
* Thick black hair swept back by a silky blue ribbon, showing off her golden earrings

In this collection, even more authentic items bring Addy's story to life:

* A straw bonnet with calico ribbon
* A kerchief to make a bundle for carrying things with Momma
* A gourd for water and a replica half-dime from Uncle Solomon
* The special African cowrie shell from her great-grandmother that Addy wears around her neck

Addy's 18-inch doll body is soft cloth; her head and limbs are smooth vinyl. She's posable for hundreds of playtimes and can be treasured for years to come. Her Meet Addy book enhances playtime with the first story of this courageous girl growing up in 1864 Philadelphia-and offers lessons about choices and friendship that still touch girls today.

The Addy mold is similar to the classic mold in many ways; both have the large eyes with corners, two visible front teeth in between the lips, and a rounded chin. The Addy face mold differs from the classic mold in that the nose is wider, the mouth slightly larger, and the cheeks chubbier. This is done to more accurately resemble the features commonly associated with people of African descent; thus this mold has never been used on a doll with light skin.

* Face Mold: African American/"Addy"
* Skin: Dark Brown
* Hair: Textured dark brown, long, parted at the
front, no bangs
* Eyes: Dark Brown
* Other: Addy has permanent gold loop earrings in each ear.
