Why My Warm Market Turned Cold?
After all everyone is a prospect, right?
The next day after signing up I began my conquest. I called my family members first. I went through all my family and my wife's family members. Then I started on my friends. Some of which I had not talked to in years. I had to listen to stories about their children, pets, divorces, some even asked me for loans since they perceived that I was already making tons of money.When it was all said and done, I sponsored only one person after practically harrasing them for months. I also noticed that even my closest friends, church members and relatives were avoiding me like the swine flu. I thought why? Then it dawned on me that everytime i came into a three foot proximity I was trying to sneak my opportunity into the discussion.
That's when I knew that in order for me to grow the massive six-seven figure income that I want in the mlm/network marketing industry, harrasing my friends and family, using the three foot everyones a prospect rule would not work. I even tried the prospecting books offered by Dani Johnson which includes different scripts to say in order to gather more leads. For me personally it did not help at all. I spent many dollars on gas and meal tickets to get people to opportunity meetings but again only one signup. By the way, the person I sponsored after all of the begging quit only after 3 months. Why? because they did not have a true desire, they were not qualified but they were harrassed.
I almost decided to quit but I was inspired by a favorite book of mine titled "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill. I read in one of the chapters to search for specilized knowledge, a mastermind group ,to seek out effective skills and implement my learning into the goals I wanted to achieve. That goal is to grow a massive organization. I put away the names list, the three foot rule which can drive you crazy and even Dani Johnson's form methods and started searching for realistic solutions. I wanted the truth.
I stumbled upon a free e-book called The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing
by Ann Seig. The truth about those ineffective techniques and why they are being taught by mlm uplines revealed some great information to me. I learned why everyone is not my prospect and why I should stop wasting my time, money and energy on these old model network marketing techniques.
