Everything about Angelina Jolie and her Tattoos!

Angelina Jolie is no stranger to the tattoo gun. The actress and mother of 6 and counting has a total of 19 tattoos that I'm aware of.

1. A large black cross on her left hip.

2. The Latin quote "Quod me netrit me destruit" ("What nourishes me also destroys me") across her lower stomach.

3. The letter H on her left wrist. Angie claims it for her brother James Haven. However, Angie did get this tattoo when she was seeing Timothy Hutton.

4. A large Asian tiger, some Borneon-style tribal patterns, and another dragon on her lower back.

5. A Buddhist Thai prayer for protection. She wanted something in Cambodian Sanskrit so it would relate to her adopted son Maddox. This was also a cover-up for the Japanese kanji for "death."

6. "Know Your Rights" just below her neck.

7. The Arabic word for "determination" or "will" on the inside of her right upper arm. This was a cover-up for a tattoo that she and Billy Bob both wore when they were married.

8. A dragon on her left upper arm that used to say "Billy Bob" above it. (She had his name lasered off after the divorced)

9. A quote from Tennessee Williams on her left arm which says "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages." This was a cover-up for the Japanese kanji for "courage."

10. The Roman numeral 13

11. The latitude and longitude coordinates for the birthplaces of her six children.

Angelina Jolie appears on the cover of December's Harper's Bazaar Magazine and in the magazine she tells them..

"I am still, at heart - and always will be - just a punk kid with tattoos."

Angelina Jolie got the 12 inch tiger tattooed on her lower back the old fashion way, by a monk hammering a 15 inch needle repeatedly on her lower back. However, it seems all that pain was worth it because her children have grown to love that tiger.

"My kids talk to it all the time... They just like to say hi to it, and paint it with fingerpaints. It's like a little friend."

It is safe to say that when someone has as many tattoos as Angelina you are bound to have made some mistakes in your tattoo designs. It seems that Angelina is human just like all of us and has regretted some of her tattoo choices over the years...probably the Billy Bob tattoo more than others. Here is a list of tattoos that Angie has gotten covered up and or lasered off.

1. A dragon on her left arm (She has been lasering it for some months now but it can still be faintly seen).

2. "Billy Bob" tattoo, the name of her former husband Billy Bob Thornton, on her left arm

3. A Chinese character tattooed for courage now covered by the Tennessee Williams quote.

4. A Chinese character tattooed that is believed to mean death is now covered by the prayer for eldest Maddox.

5. A tattoo both Thornton and Jolie shared. It was on her right forearm, now covered by the "strength of will" tattoo.

6. A dragon she got in Amsterdam while Angelina was drunk, now covered by the Latin cross.

7. A window on her lower back. While she was on Inside the Actors Studio, she explained that she covered this tattoo, because, while she used to spend all of her time looking out through windows wishing to be outside, she now lives there all of the time.

It is very apparent that Angelina Jolie truly loves Brad Pitt and plans on staying with him for a long time. Well Angelina has admitted that she has gotten a tattoo for her lover but would not divulge any information on what it is and where it is. More than likely it is in a very private place. Hopefully its not something she will regret later on in life, like the "Billy Bob" tattoo.

We all know that Angelina is a avid tattoo lover, otherwise she wouldn't have to many. Well it seems that Barbara Walters once asked Angelina to stop getting tattoos and keep a dairy instead. In true Angie fashion she shot back with, my tattoos are my diary.

She had this to say about her tattoos:

"Usually all my tattoos came at good times. A tattoo is something permanent when you've made a self-discovery, or something you've come to a conclusion about."

Also Angie has also vowed to never get another man's name tattooed on her body again.
