A precious little mouse in the quaint village of Chipping Cheddar, Mouseland, desires to be a prima ballerina....Angelina Ballerina. Angelina Mouseling lets us into her life along with with her best friend Alice, cousin Henry, rivals Penelope and Priscilla. Created by Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, Angelina is a role model for little girls encouraging them to dream and believe in themselves.

Angelina Ballerina
Angelina Ballerina is a fictional mouse, created by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, who features in a popular series of children's books. The first book in the series was published in 1982, and there have since been over twenty books in the series.
In 2002, an animated TV series of 39 fifteen minute episodes based on the books was produced by HIT Entertainment in the United Kingdom. The series featured actress Finty Williams as the voice of Angelina, and her mother Judi Dench as Miss Lily. The series aired on PBS in the United States and can currently be seen on Nick Jr. and PBS Kids Sprout.
English National Ballet will be taking a live version of Angelina Ballerina called Angelinas Star Performance'' on tour in autumn 2007. It is a fairly short ballet aimed at children.
Beginning in Fall 2009, a CGI-animated weekly series called Category: Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps - will be produced for PBS Kids in the U.S. and Nick Jr. in the U.K. The format of the series is packed in 40 30-minute episodes for PBS Kids and 80 12-minute episodes for Nick Jr.[http://www.hitentertainment.com/PRPDFs/ABNewProduction_final_3_7_08.pdf].

Katharine Holabird
Katharine Holabird (born January 23 1948, Cambridge, Massachusetts) is an American-born, British-based children's writer, best known for creating the popular adventures of Angelina Ballerina, the ballet-dancing mouse. She has also written Alexander and the Dragon, about a young boy who fears nothing except the darkness and shapes in his room at night, and Alexander and the Magic Boat about a boy who takes a fantastical voyage on his living room furniture.
Holabird grew up in Chicago, Illinois and studied literature at Bennington College in Vermont which inspired her to take up a writing career. Upon graduation from Bennington, she worked as a literary editor for a year, before staying on in Rome, Italy after a holiday where she learned Italian and worked as a writer for film magazine Variety's Rome office.
In 1974, Holabird moved to London, England where she worked as a nursery school teacher and had two daughters and a son. In 1982, she joined forces with English illustrator Helen Craig to create the first in a series of Angelina Ballerina books. She has collaborated with Craig on several other children's books.
She currently lives in North London with her family.
