The Bridge of Silver Wings (ISBN 9781435734210) began as a series of poems, titled "Songs of the Angelic Gaze," posted on the popular AuthorsDen and Poet Seers websites starting in July 2006. It grew over the course of a year to include more than a dozen such poems, short prose pieces, biographical verse, and prose poems.
Written by award-winning author and poet Aberjhani, a native of Savannah, Georgia, the title was first made available in December 2007 as a book through the Lulu print-on-demand process. It was released as a Kindle Edition in April 2008 in honor of National Poetry Month and Jazz Appreciation Month.

Songs of the Angelic Gaze
As "Songs of the Angelic Gaze," the "angel poems" in The Bridge of Silver Wings won critical approval for their spiritual intensity as well as for their style, which the author states is a variation on the haiku rather than a true implementation of it. These variations serve as vehicles that explore and articulate states of intensified spiritual consciousness. By contrast, those pieces composed in free verse often address more grounded human concerns.The titles of individual poems range from the possibly expected, such as "Angel of War" and "Angel of Peace," to the highly innovative, like "Angel of Hope's Persistent Flight" and "Angel of Friendship's Enduring Faith." Most have been previously published in a given medium but some are making their debut in The Bridge of Silver Wings.

The ancient story
tells itself anew, dressed in
syllables of now.
Hope flexes and soars--
through eyes welcoming newborns
to earth's green legend,
through scarred tongues singing
battlefield fare-thee-wells for
comrades gone to peace.
Addicted to bliss,
dark heaven floods the soul
bright with miracles.
Stars wishing upon
the potential of humans
shine faithfully on.
