Early Christians adopted the Jewish ideas of angels. In the early stage, the Christian concept of an angel shifted between the angel as a messenger of God. Angels are creatures of good, spirits of love, and messengers of the savior Jesus Christ. Later came identification of individual angelic messengers: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel. Then, in the space of little more than two centuries (from the third to the fifth) the image of angels took on definite characteristics both in theology and in art
The angels are represented throughout the Christian Bible as a body of spiritual beings intermediate between God and men: "You have made him (man) a little less than the angels..." (Psalms 8:4,5). They, equally with man, are created beings; "praise ye Him, all His angels: praise ye Him, all His hosts... for He spoke and they were made. He commanded and they were created..." (Psalms 148:2-5; Colossians 1:16).

The New Testament includes a number of interactions and conversations between angels and humans. For instance, three separate cases of angelic interaction deal with the births of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. In Luke 1:11, an angel appears to Zechariah to inform him that he will have a child despite his old age, thus proclaiming the birth of John the Baptist And in Luke 1:26 the archangel Gabriel visits the Virgin Mary in the Annunciation to foretell the birth of Jesus Christ. Angels then proclaim the birth of Jesus in the Adoration of the shepherds in Luke 2:10. Angels also appear later in the New Testament. In Luke 22:43 an angel comforts Jesus Christ during the Agony in the Garden. In Matthew 28:5 an angel speaks at the empty tomb, following the Resurrection of Jesus and the rolling back of the stone by angels.

Oh, there is so much about pets and miracles, pets seeing angels and spirits, and then their need for angels like you to help them.
We often hear that pets can see things we can't, including possibly, angels and spirits; and we know the love they have for their human companions, is it so hard to believe miracles often will happen though our pets?
I have had some of my own personal experiences with these special angels I thought I would share.

When I was a toddler my Mom was one of those who harnessed their kids. Personally, I don't care that my mother did this, my sister and I were both very young, but hubby hates the photos I have of it. It was so we could play outside and she could safely run in and tend to dinner if she needed. Well, anyway, I got loose one day and my Mom ran out as soon as she noticed. As I was running down the street she saw our dog "Lady" was right next to me and our neighbor's dog was right on the other side of me, they were trying to shepherd me home. I proceeded to run into the road in front of a car, the car was a few car lengths back, but Lady ran right up to the car and jumped on the hood to make it stop. Mom often told this story over the years, and I still do.

And there is more, when my parents where drunk and yelling and fighting Lady would scratch the door open to my room and would lick my tears away. She was so strong for me, but then would eventually shake all over and I would hug her tight. All my will and thoughts flowed onto her, holding her tight, and it helped me forget the yelling and fighting. This happened so often, and it was a long time before I was old enough to wonder how she got into my room all the time. Later on, I tried over and over to see if I could make the door "appear" closed while still being able to puch it open; I tried shutting the door, slamming the door, but it always latched perfectly. There were hundreds of scratches at the bottom from her scratching to get in, but how did she get in without turning the knob? I was a freshman in high school when she had to be put down for a very large cancerous growth on her leg. Both we and the vet feared that while my parents where at work, and my sister and I were in school, the tumor would split and she would suffer horrible pain alone at home. I tried to say goodbye that morning before school, my eyes full of tears, just like now as I write this, and she sat in the front yard. She wouldn't look at me at all, instead stared into the sky. Those where the only tears I shed over her though, no matter how many times I tell her story (until now). I have shed many over other pets I have had, but not her because, perhaps, I know I don't have to worry about this wonderful spirit as she is so special.

Mom and Goldie -
I have owned throughout my life about 10 cats, but only one was a bit different, her name was Goldie and she was my Mom's last pet before her death. One thing she would do was if you cried she would rub you over and over and yell at you to hold her, and yes it would be so calming. One time Mom couldn't get to the pharmacy to get a medicine refill for a couple days and she dropped one of her last 2 heart meds on the floor without knowing it. A short time later, Goldie jumped up and was rubbing her, Mom looked down to pat her and Goldie dropped the pill, not on the floor or in her lap, but right in her hand. It fell out of her hand and onto the floor. My Mom being blind, was unable to tell what it was that Goldie had given her and she yelled to me from the other room "What is this? Can you come look?" And it was the pill. When Mom was really sick and needed a hospital Goldie would lay on her chest and I would know to call the doctors right away. Smart cat? Spiritual? I don't know.

The last personal story is very new and we are still investigating, but over the last year we have noticed our dog Tipper looking up at a spot near our piano in the living room, at about the height of a person, and she looks to be watching very intently like she does when someone speaks to her. The piano is very old and has been in my husbands family for nearly a hundred years. OK, so it could just be some dust floating about, or a picture she likes on the wall I don't know, but then in the family room she sometimes does the same thing, looking at a spot on the wall like she is listening to someone. This second spot is exactly on the opposite side of the wall from the piano, and is actually directly on the opposite side from the spot she was looking at. And now, only in recent weeks, our younger dog is doing it to, do we have an angel or a spirit watching over us all? Maybe, and ya know, what It is OK.

Affirmations are statements of acceptance. They are powerful and positive thoughts. Never use words like try, or maybe, instead be definite, that is what holds the power. I recall once someone dropping a pencil he said "try and pick it up", so I picked it up. He said "no" and dropped it again, "I said try and pick it up", I said "it's either you do it or you don't, I can't show you try," he said "exactly".


Affirmations can sometimes be hard for even the happiest of us. I had to start slow, one each day, a new one, and i would journal it. Now, well, it comes much easier, so I am able to do more. For me I could say "music makes me feel good and I will listen to some today", "that movie made me feel good I will watch it again", "art makes me feel good I will draw today", "the smell of the lilacs and roses are like a dream so wonderful I spend time watering them, taking photos, and set up my lap top beneath them enjoying each moment". People say the more you feel, well the more you do for yourself that is good the better you will feel", and I can tell you first hand that this, along with acceptance, changed my life. Then add love and wow a fantastic feeling of extreme warmth. OK, back to angels, they say you are closer to angels when you meditate and use affirmations about yourself and acknowledge your angel. It brings your connection with your angel closer during meditation, some also pray for guidance and assistance.



Some affirmations of mine for today!

- I love and accept myself.
- I am surrounded by love.
- My mind is calm.
- I am at one with the inner child in me.
- I am worthy of love.
- I am a forgiving and loving person.

Inspirations are just as important, things that are inspiring and uplifting words, stories, movies, music, art, a garden, etc, take the time in each day to do one small thing that inspires you or makes you feel good even if it is just to smell a flower or the air. Reward yourself, you deserve it, as well you deserve the good health that comes from your affirmations and inspirations.



Angel Affirmations

I believe we are being watched over whether it is by the spirits of loved ones or a guardian angel from heaven. I think someone is always with you, you are never alone. I also believe in angels on earth; our friends, family, pets, etc. I believe the true angel is love and caring, which comes in many forms, it could be as simple as a "hello, have a nice day" from a stranger, gifts of hope and prayer for those less fortunate, a helping hand, perhaps a kiss or snuggle of a pet, a hug from a friend or family member, someones ear who really listens, a shoulder to cry on, a friend to laugh or be silly with, or a baby that smiles at you with no real judgment at all.

Angels have come to us in art for many years, in Christian paintings and books, in church stained glass windows, in statues, and today in simple to stunning new art forms; always with wings and most times with loving and caring expressions. Whether is is drawings, paintings, sand art, or chalk on the sidewalk, when you see an angel we just think for that moment of what I can't say properly, but believe with all my heart, and that is that there is a warm thought even if for only a second.

Groups and charities have formed all over the world with "angel" in the title, representing love, care and helping others, some as guardians leading you to better life. How can we ever say the angels are not among us.

I already told you a bit about my pets, here is a bit more of my experiences. Well, I believe it started very young, you could say birth. I am an adopted child, my biological mother was a teen who still had me and when she saw me she wanted to try and keep me, but she couldn't and then gave me up. I was abused in a foster home and at 16 mos old I was adopted and my Mom and doctors closed down the foster home. I believe my new parents probably saved my life. I believe I have been watched over somehow since birth. When my Mom came to meet me at a visit in the welfare office, I bonded with her immediately and I held her tight and wouldn't let go. The agency couldn't believe it as I always acted timid and shy, afraid of everyone, but not Mom. When she left i cried myself sick and that next morning they had my Mom come and take me, it was suppose to be a few days, but they were worried about my constant crying and as soon as she showed up I ran to her and fell asleep in her arms.

I wont get into my whole life except to say that I was one of those people that was always given chances. No matter the trouble I was in I got another chance, people saw "something in me worth helping", words I heard so often and my reply was "glad you do, i sure don't". I think today that if I went to those people (teachers, police, therapists, etc) they would all say "see you are a nice person with a big heart and we knew you would do OK." I am not giving a compliment to myself as much to them, a very honest compliment and sincere thanks. The same happens with each bad friend I would make, for every one I would seem to wind up with 2 good friends that would enter my life. Some I have even reconnected with through Facebook. Over time I learned just as with love, true friends and good people see deeper, they can really see what's in your heart and see the good or the real you. And of coarse they care.

Spirit? Angel?-
When I was a preteen I would see this shadow on my wall, it scared me and I would ignore it. Sometimes the shadow moved some and looked like a figure, at some point I couldn't ignore it any longer, it moved with me a bit until I got to the kitchen, then I heard a creaking and looked in the family room and I saw my grandmother in a rocking chair. She had passed away when I was 5, she never spoke but it seemed like she had an expression of "things will be OK, and I will always be proud of you." also grammy was blind during my entire child hood yet i could tell she could see me her eyes fallowing my movements.
I told my mom in the morning, she didn't believe me at first until I described the blanket, chair, and other things which she said I couldn't have known. We went through photos to see if there were any of her with those details, there wasn't. She then believed that I saw her. Some people might think it was my imagination, no matter, I know it wasn't and I know she is always watching over me and proud of me. to this day I never saw the shadow again on my wall.

Marriage!!
The most wonderful of miracles in my life is my husband. It's a more recent miracle than the others and is full of love and mystery!
We met through a friend and stayed connected online. We both had given up on finding real love any place, but when we where not looking it happened. I suppose most would say that's how it should be. Both of us had lost our moms within the previous year, and had earlier in our lives lost our dads. We were both still grieving our Moms' passing, and it was affecting each of our lives. He had gotten addicted to computer games, playing all night long and had a cluttered home, me well I went through money my mom gave me very quickly (through buying things for friends mostly), I had stopped eating, and really didn't care much except for the computer. After we met our lives changed. None of what I listed stayed the same, we became friends, lovers, and soon engaged, then married. We sold our homes and bought a house together. We believe our parents may have brought us together. There is a funny story related to that idea, when we were unpacking boneware sets I thought was my Mom's and instead it was his Mom's, they were the exact same pattern and it turned out that the pieces that they were each missing, were completed by the others set. The first time I called my Mom's giant plant "Charlie" he laughed and said "my mom had a big plant she called charlie as well." I could go on with small weird things, but suffice to say that the more these things occurred the bigger the connection of our Moms became and the more we felt we were meant to be together. He often says that I saved his life, he had been on antidepressants and didn't care about living any longer, and I know he saved mine. I always say I married my love and my best friend in the world. I was a drinker for some time and once we met I have not drank or wanted to since. I hadn't even thought about it enough to realize it for months. Oh I will have one at an event or at a dinner party, but that is even more and more rare. Some may say a geographical change caused me to quit, others might say love, I just know he saved my life and I have never felt this wonderful ever... and he often says the same.

In ending I just want to say again weather angels or spirits I feel we are never alone we are being watched over with love and care.
also angels are all around us friends loved ones pets even a stranger. angels to me are not just religious. Yet the heart the caring heart in all of us people who give to help one another out the hug you get from a friend the smile from a stranger with a wonderful hello or have a nice day. the pet laying in your lap giving you warmth Angels are everywhere!!!
