Suzy's Journey With Noodle

This lens is dedicated to my friend Suzy in hopes she will be able to continue her efforts to rescue, and care for abandoned, sick, or injured cats. It is amazing how much she cares for her little ones of the animal kingdom and dedicates her time, energy, and love with unending enthusiasm!

This is what Suzy has to say in her own words, "Almost two years ago we adopted a darling cat named Noodle who was severely injured and abandoned by his owners. Although he has recovered from multiple surgeries, he is still battling with a mycobacterial infection, which has proven very difficult to clear up. This is a journal of our journey together."

The Beginning of the Journey With Noodle!

Injured and seeking refuge!

The beginning of Suzy's plight to care for her beloved Noodle, began one evening when Suzy found the little cat laying on her dog's blanket in the laundry room. He had entered through the animal door from the outside seeking refuse from his horrific injuries. His pain must have been unbearable, too weak to barely move, he lay there in a pitiful state!

Upon the discovery of her neighbor's cat, she quickly called to alert them of his condition. It appeared he had been attacked by a raccoon and he had extensive injuries from the racoon's claws. His pitiful little body had been virtually shredded, gaping wounds oozing blood!

Upon hearing the news, her neighbor informed her that the cat had been given away to another neighbor, and she said she would contact her, leaving Suzy free to attend to the injured cat.

A short time later the original owner called Suzy back, and said that the new owner would pick Noodle up in the morning because she did not want to wake her children. Suzy offered to take Noodle to her home, explaining to the neighbor that he was seriously injured and in dire need of immediate professional care. The woman again stated she would pick him up in the morning. Suzy had attended to many animals in the past, and she did what she could to help poor Noodle. As morning came and went, the owner did not show up to claim her cat, nor did she bother to call. Later, the original owner phoned to tell her that the woman called her, and said "it just wasn't working out," and she would not be coming to get Noodle. The original owner, not knowing what to do, offered to take Noodle to the Humane Society, thinking that they would patch him up, and adopt him out. Suzy informed her that he would immediately be put to sleep, and she was not willing to let that happen. The poor baby was only eighteen months old!

Suzy accepted the responsibility that lay ahead, knowing full well that this poor little animal would be in for a long recovery, if he survived his injuries.

The Care Begins

Care Is Given to Noodle

The journey between Suzy and Noodle had now begun. The vetenarian performed numerous surgeries, and wound care was vital to his recovery. Suzy accepted the challenge with all her heart and poured out her loving care to the little cat.

Journal Entry

Recently, Suzy writes in her journal,"Noodle is resting comfortably in his bed with his new Halloween snuggly. He may not be ready for his herbal bath, but boo boo bear is going in the washer tonight! Poor little guy is looking pretty raggedy after almost two years of snuggling with Noodle."

Suzy, continues to struggle with caring for Noodle because his own going battle with a mycobacterial infection! She informed me that she is very concerned that he will need additional surgery due to a very large growing nodule, and she fears he may not survive this time! "He will most likely have to go back in his hat," she stated recently. It's so frustrating to be unable to cure this infection," she stated over a telephone conversation with me one evening.

My continued prayers and well wishes goes out to her.

Suzy has a store (called a booth) on www.bonanzle.com where she sells the custest animal costumes, along with other items, in an attempt to raise money for the care of her beloved Noodle and other stray cats which she has adopted over the years.

If you wish to assist Suzy in the care of her dear little rescued cats, please visit her booth on Bonanzle.com and make a purchase! Noodles and his pals would love it.

Stay tuned, I will be updating Suzy's efforts on a regualar basis! Pray for Suzy and Noodles, he's a brave little cat fighting for his life!

What does Wikipedia have to say about animal cat rescues?

Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) is a nonkill animal shelter, that mainly houses cats. It is all-volunteer and mostly does pound rescues and spaying and neutering of feral cats and strays.

It is located in Cambria, California. Every year, HART has a float in the Cambria parade, which has won first place a few times. The shelter recently got a new outdoor room for the cats, so they can have sunshine and fresh air. Most of the volunteers are adults, but the youngest are young teenagers.
