A Dog That Paints

Here is one canine with some talent!

Necessity IS the mother of invention! When Mary Stadelbacher of Salisbury, Md., needed to raise money fast to keep her service-dog training business afloat, she got creative ... or rather, her dog did. She figured that if her Foxhound mix, Sammy, could learn to open doors and pick up objects for disabled people, he could learn to pick up a brush and paint. Two years later, paintings by Sammy and fellow "Doggie Da Vincis," are popular for fundraisers as original works and notecards.

A Painting Pony!

Here is one equine on a Mission!

Buddy, the Painting Pony, may look like a healthy, normal horse but he is far from it! Not only does he have a talented painting career, but he also fights a disease called Equine Cushings Disease. He was diagnosed with Equine Cushings Disease in August of 2007. Since then, he has been selling his paintings to help pay for his medical bills and to also raise funds to help others horses with the same condition by donating to reseach on Equine Cushings Disease at the University of Tennessee.

Wow! I'm very thankful to have stumbled upon this lens! I'm also an animal artist...well, for now, I'm just starting out and looking for ways to hone my skills...anyway, I really do feel good sketching and drawing different kinds of animals. Some of my work were already featured in my 6-year-old son's school during family day! I even get to put some dog pictures on my checks, my first one being labrador retriever checks & everybody loves them! Oh boy, I sure hope I can learn everything in here. Thanks for the great lens!
