Stress

Stress can be caused by a physical, mental, social or emotional stimulus that elicits a change or evokes a response in the way we perform, think or feel.  Simply put, change is stressful, whether the change is good or bad.

While stress is a psychological problem, it also has physical effects.  The body responds to stress with an array of physical reactions like increased blood pressure, an increase in adrenalin, a pick up in the heart beat and a greater tension in the muscles.  These reactions to stress increase your likelihood of stroke or heart attack.

Stress is a good thing and helps us to learn, react, avoid danger and so much more.  The important thing is to manage your stress in a healthy way so that you do not have high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, gain weight or have adrenal problems.

More information on how to cope with stress

Stress management is the amelioration of stress, especially chronic stress.

Stress Protocol

Dietary supplements to help you deal with stress in a healthy way.

The stress protocol is a vitamin, mineral, herbal, digestive enzymes and probiotic combination that helps the body to thrive through stress. The nutrients in this formula were hand picked to help nourish the body and to provide the fuel needed for healthy, enjoyable living.

Brilliance is formulated to balance and enhance brain function, creating a greater sense of well being. This formulation is created to help stimulate brain blood circulation, cognition, and overall brain function. The quantity and quality of herbs used and their ratio to one another are key factors in the effectiveness of this carefully balanced formula.

EB Digestive Aid is a highly concentrated version of the Flora Zymes formula. In addition to the acidophilus and bifidus, we have added the pro-biotics, bromelain and papain, which provide an enhanced superior digestive aid complex. This formulation was designed for individuals with severe cases of poor digestion and other bowel ailments, excessive gas and general health improvement. This is our highest potency enzyme complex available.

Innergy contains a combination of herbs that provides powerful nutrition for the immune system. Innergy contains clinically proven effective herbs such as Echinacea and Astragalus. Innergy is one of our most popular herbal combinations. Give your immune system a lift --- feed it Innergy.

Almost every disease, sickness or ailment can be traced to a mineral deficiency. ~Dr. Linus Pauling.

Tracite Liquid is a highly bio-available, iron-based source of 77 essential minerals and trace elements. Tracite is composed of 40 million year old organic plant matter derived from humic shale. The fulvic minerals are extracted from the shale using our proprietary pure water method, with absolutely no chemicals or acids used in the process of extraction. Tracite contains more electrolytes than most other products available on the market. The high fulvic acid content of Tracite gives it some unique electrical properties. Every cell in the body depends on fulvic, colloidal trace minerals and elements for that daily trickle charge of bio-electrical energy and independent tests have shown that Tracite has excellent conductivity. Tracite contains both ionic and colloidal particles. When combined with enzymes (see Flora-Zymes), the minerals and trace elements in Tracite form alkalizing detoxifying agents, which neutralize acid and other metabolic by-products, preparing them for elimination. Tracite contains the minerals and trace elements your body needs to keep toxins from accumulating. Some of the immediate benefits of taking Tracite fulvic minerals include increased stamina and endurance, improved mental clarity and physical well-being, and more beautiful skin, hair and nails. Tracite is the best iron supplement available and it greatly increases the bodies ability to absorb nutrients into the cells. It is the only mineral supplement of its kind in the world.

What Causes The Physical Symptoms Of Stress

The adrenal gland is what brings on the fight or flight response

An increase in adrenal production is what causes the body to have its physical reactions to stress. It does this by increasing the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates to quickly produce energy for the body to use as fuel. It is this response that depletes the body's stores of certain minerals, amino acids and other nutrients. During times of stress, the body has a difficult time absorbing nutrients from food. As a result, during times of prolonged stress, the body becomes deficient in nutrients and is unable to replace them properly.

To ensure proper nutrition during times of stress, it is important to supplement B-complex vitamins which help the nervous system and with energy. It is also a good idea to add minerals, especially electrolytes and magnesium and calcium. Stress also causes oxidization damage to the cells so it is important to add antioxidants to protect the cells health.

Daily Practices To Help Reduce Stress

Various therapies for stress from Dr. Elson M. Haas

Dr. Elson M. Haas has suggested several therapies to help reduce stress in a healthy way in his book Staying Healthy With Nutrition.

Elson Suggests:
  • Have more fun. Do things that you enjoy and that help you to relax.
  • Express your feelings. Emotions need regular venting and unexpressed emotions are the building blocks of stress, pain and illness.
  • Get good sleep. Poor sleep or sleep habits do not let your body really rest, discharge tensions, and recharge.
  • Learn relaxation exercises. These can help a great deal in reducing stress through letting go of mental stresses and experiencing moments of inner peace. This quiet, "nothing happening" space is where, I believe, the healing process begins.
  • Exercise. Regular physical exercise is one of the best ways to clear your tensions and feel good, with more energy and a better attitude toward life.
  • Develop good relationships. It is important to have friends in whom you can confide and find support. Those who love and accept you and will advise but not judge you are your true friends. It is also very meaningful to be a true friend to another.
  • Experience love and satisfying sex. A primary relationship that is loving, sensual, and sexual can also be a major stress reducer. Having an understanding, accepting, and warm being to receive your hardworking body and mind can be the best therapy available. However, if you do not have this in your life, there are many other therapies that are helpful. Often, an intense relationship can also be a stressor. It is important to find a balance in all you do, in each endeavor and in your life as a whole.
  • Change perceptions and attitudes. When ideas or views are not serving you, it is wise to examine and adapt them. It is important to learn to respond to life's situation and not react. This is true response-ability! Hanging onto frustrations, holding grudges, and accepting the victim-blame game are not in your best health interests. It serves you to look at the big picture and step out of the little struggles. Ask why you might need to experience these challenges and try to view them as opportunities for growth and learning. Applying more spiritual principles to life is very useful and often helps solve many of the conflicts involved in finding greater peace of mind and heart. Find and experience self-love, self-respect, and self-worth.

I agree that stress has physical effects also. Prolonged stress can actually lead to cellulite or increased fat deposits in the stomach, hips, buttocks, and thighs. So apart from using the best cellulite cream, one should indeed learn to manage stress to get rid of cellulite.
