Antique Rugs and Carpets in the trade are at least 80 years old. Some people insist that antique is 100 years old. That is based on an old customs regulation that is no longer in force. I remember one character who vociferously insisted that Antique meant 100 years. I never had the heart to point out that some of his "antique" rugs in his collection were no more than 60 years old.
