I bought my feather weight in 1953 in Amarillo Texas and it is still the one I use for quilting.
I am looking for a foot that I can use for quilting. One with an
open ring that moves up and down as you meander around.

I have an old hand crank sewing machine that I would like to find out some information about, however I do not know the brand name. I have not been able to locate any photos online that look like the machine I have.

There doesn't appear to be any numbers on the machine (unfortunately it was taken out of the table - which I do not have) the only words that were once on it, have been worn down and aren't readable. What I can make of it appears to say "Sew Wen Steinway (steinwey?)" but when I search that online, nothing comes up.

How could I go about finding out something about this particular sewing machine?

Also, I don't know where the serial number would be located on something such as this. Would it be in plain view or inside another part?

I have an 1879 singer treadle in great working shape. The problem is: it is missing the bobbin cover plate. I dont have a clue on how to find the correct part or if one can even be found. if anyone has an idea please email me barbiemeeks@yahoo.com and please punt in the subject line "1879" of I may not open it. Thanks for any help.

Barbie, There is a shop in Lancaster PA that specializes in treadle sewing machines and has all kinds of parts. I was actually there several years ago but you might call one of the shops in the area to get a phone number since most of the sewing is done on treadles in that area.

I am trying to findout the price of a Singer model no. AG743270. I believe it was made in 1946, ad might be a Badger? Belonged to my mother and I grew up sewing on it, but never knew much about it. Part of her estate now, so need to know it's value. It is in mint condition and is mounted in a cabinet/table. Thanks if you can help me!

I still remember the Singer sewing machines, my mom was using it when I was a kid, now even when she is too old to sew, the machine is still there. She is too fond of it to dump it.

Oh my, I can see my old Singer treadle for sale on eBay there with a start bid of $499. I had never realised it was quite that old, 1888. It got left behind in London when I moved about 35 years ago LOL

My Mum used to use an old Singer, just a hand powered one. I still have it, but I suppose it's not worth much still. They were very nicely made in those days.
