Cure Anxiety fast without Medication

In the summer of 2007 I went to visit my general doctor for sleeplessness and strange muscle twitching I was experiencing during the night. My doctor told me it was anxiety and prescribed the anti-depression medication Paxil and told me to follow the directions closely and before long I will begin to experience a more relaxed approach to life. That evening I rushed home and promptly with great excitement popped the pill. That evening I awoke from a bleak sleep with strange flashes in my eyes, a cramping stomach, and what I would best describe as electric waves running from the souls of my feet up my spine to the base of my neck--this would be my first of many medications attempted to cure anxiety; most if not all experiencing the same side effects. The weeks following life didn't get better on medication it appeared to get worse eventually losing my job and finding little to no ambition to live life. anxiety and panic attacks can curb anyone's life and I am hear to tell you there is a cure outside of Zolft, Paxil, Xanax or any other common medications. Trim Away Your Anxiety

Help Overcoming Panic Attacks

I began a clinical undertaking of lawn work this summer in hopes to deminish my panic attacks, anxiety, and secondary depression. I was operating under the assumption exercise, vitamin D (the sun vitamin), and lawn work all stretch across the imperial insanity our idiol minds develop. Indeed, there is no CURE for anxiety--I'm sorry if this is the first time you've heard this--yet we can all do things to decrease our anxiety levels to a healthy range. In fact, a certain level of anxiety is good for us, providing motivation and heightened sense of awareness in particularly stressful situations. It is how we address these stressful situations and what we see as danger that creates intense anxiety and panic. Thus reconditioning our minds to except what is truly not dangerous and eliminating irrational thinking it the only way to overcome anxiety. One such way I have developed to help redirect focus on anxious days is my yard work workout. Exercising has been proven to reduce stress, which cuts back on those nasty stress hormones our bodies produce. Mowing the yard with a push mower is an excellent way to get the blood moving in your body and inhabiting exercise. Secondly, I love to bag my clippings in a trash bag and will often do bicep curls or tricep extentions as I walk them to the curb. Count as you do this, you'll find you do a heck of a lot of curls and extentions in a short period of time (don't be alarmed the next day the soreness is not another body breakdown, but rather a good muscle development soreness). Next, you are spending time outside in the sun which is perfect for vitamin D intake an excellent natural remedy for depression. In my case, depression is secondary to my panic attacks. The afternoon sun on my back moves mountains in relaxing me. I might suggest you work in the early mornings or late evenings to stay out of the direct sunlight and heat. I'm no doctor, but who wants to blister mowing the yard. Finally, every workout needs a cool down session. Turn on the sprinkler(s) and sit in a chair and focus on them going around and around slightly wetting the yard and reach into your inner self and pull a sense of relaxation from this feeling.

When I first began this summer's yard work, I marked my anxiety level on my therapist's questionaire as a 10 out of 10. Last week, two months later I marked at a 5. Half of what it was! My therapist was quick to draw out this link I had failed to connect. I hope all of you who read this try it. Yard, work truly trims away your anxiety levels.

BZ's Common Side Effects-Some patients experience the sedative effects of drowsiness or lethargy, decreased mental sharpness, slurring of speech and some decrease in coordination or unsteadiness of gait, less occupational efficiency or productivity and, occasionally, headache. These may continue during the first few weeks, but tend to clear up, especially if you increase the dose gradually. Sexual side effects can arise. Some people experience low moods, irritability or agitation. Rarely, a patient will experience disinhibition: they lose control of some of their impulses and do things they wouldn't ordinarily do, like increased arguing, driving the car recklessly or shoplifting. They also increase the effects of alcohol. A patient taking a BZ should drink very little alcohol and should refrain from drinking within hours of driving a car.

If taken over long periods, the BZs can produce a loss of muscle coordination and some cognitive impairment, especially in the elderly.

Are You Hanging On to Your Anxiety

by Anxiety Help Online

What is meant by this statement? Why would anyone want to hang on to their anxiety? That is a good question. If we want to help ourselves from anxiety we must examine this question.

Do you spend all of your time thinking about your anxiety and not doing the positive things you need to do to cope with it? Anxiety sufferers tend to do this for some reason. Obviously one of the main reasons people do this is because they want help so that they can relieve their anxiety symptoms.

In fact you may get caught up in searching the internet, reading books, talking to others but not really helping yourself. Most anxiety sufferers know all of the lingo. They can tell you all of the symptoms and different medications, all of the latest relaxation techniques and therapies.

The question you must ask yourself is am I doing any of these self help techniques on a daily basis? Do I give up too quickly or find it easier to hang on to my anxiety? I think most people are the latter. It is easier to hang onto your anxiety than help yourself. You will probably disagree with this statement. This is why you have to change your ways.

Challenge yourself on this. Write down what self help techniques you use each day and how much time you spend each day on them. Then you will clearly see how much time you are taking to relieve your symptoms. Be honest with the time you spend each day.

You might be surprised to find that your not doing anything at all but spending all of your time reading about symptoms and reinforcing your anxiety. You need to change your thinking to focus on self help and those techniques that make you feel better. I cannot stress enough how important it is to do these positive things daily.

You need to retrain your thoughts and actions to counteract them. By doing this it will become second nature and you will find relief from your anxiety. Always remember that you are not going to CURE your anxiety as some people claim. It is a natural part of the human existence. It is a natural defense mechanism we all have and need to survive.
