Arkansas Drivers Education Requirements
Drivers in Arkansas should be at least 14 years old. Students will need to bring proof that they are achieving a GPA of at least 2.0 as well. Everyone riding in the car must wear a seat belt at all times, though this is a good practice no matter who is driving. The passenger in the front seat must be a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old.
Teen drivers are required to have at least a minimum of 30 hours of in-classroom training (plus at least 6 hours of behind-the-wheel practice) before they can get their driver's license. Additionally, those with a learner's permit must show proof of at least a minimum of 6 hours of observing another driver.
Arkansas participates in the graduated licensing program, so teens should pay close attention to all of the necessary requirements and documentation needed to advance to the next level of licensing.
