Aromatherapy oils: Lavender and Jasmine
You are down in the dumps. You're not at your best. This is not your day. You've just ended your relationship with your boyfriend/girlfriend. You are in trouble with your boss or your partners. You have family issues. You feel like putting an end to everything. You feel like everything is worthless and to top it all, you feel worthless, as if nothing really mattered anymore.
Okay, stop. You're not the only one. Surely this is not the first time you go through a bad day, month or even year. Realizing this is definitely the first step. People usually think that stress associated with depression is not such a big deal. It is. Fifty percent of heart diseases are often associated with the cumulative effect of stress during years. But the problem is not the stress per se, but how you actually handle it so you don't become a nervous-post-traumatic disorder wrecking disaster.
There are natural alternatives such as lavender and jasmine, which will be described below, that doesn't have any secondary effects and are safe to use as part of an own spa-at-home treatment.

how to get in a good mood
How does scent affect mood?
aromatherapy oils
It is said that the smell of these herb's scents elicit positive emotions through the limbic system (the area of the brain responsible for emotions, feelings, memories). However, some experts argue that the benefits of aromatherapy appear to be related to the belief that the treatment will work properly.Either way, you can try the benefits of these herbs and see if they work well for you.
Lavender is a natural stress reducer that can lift mild depression and clear your mind so you can work through problems more effectively, given that this essence brings a natural relaxed state that help you cope better with life's struggles, elevating the mood.
It's also useful for sleeping better overall. Keeping a small sink of lavender salts or essential oils in your bedroom (near your pillow for more effectiveness) can help you relax before you fall asleep.
Jasmine
jasmine in aromatherapy
The exquisite essential oil of this flower has a sweet, exotic smell as it deeply relaxes and boosts confidence. Jasmine can be a valuable remedy in cases of severe depression, alleviating the nerves and producing a feeling of confidence, euphoria and optimism while restoring energy.Jasmine oil can be used as blended massage oil or diluted in the bath, for helping to ease muscle pain, reducing tension, stress and nervousness.
How to use Lavender and Jasmine in aromatherapy
-Add 10-20 drops of essential oil to the water in the bathtub and soak for twenty minutes. 3 or 4 oz in a small bowl is more than enough for body massages. Or you can subtly enjoy the scent with just some candles.Although it hasn't been scientifically proven that some forms of alternative medicine like aromatherapy have their alleged effects on many symptoms, especially those related to states of the mind like anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, it is very recommendable to use it in a complementary way and always consulting your doctor first.
BASIC ESSENTIAL OILS : you can work with these, combined with candles or with kits in the sections below that also have shower gels, bath salts for a complete spa-at-home treatment.

It's certainly a great idea for that friend, relative or lover that doesn't seem to be coping well with his/her feelings, moods or emotions, due to any circunstance. It's a sign of your empathy to them.

- Very interesting. Have you found these even helpful for moderate to severe depression? I have a duel lens on right now about treating depression naturally or with mids--I'd love to hear your relaxed point of view on there, if you've a mind to stop by.
