Allow me to intoduce you to a very special artist. I have found a jewel in Surprise, Arizona. A wonderful artist, Cyra Cancel. Her artwork is captivating. The eyes on her beloved Persian Cat paintings speak to your soul. She uses rich colors that demand attention and would compliment any room in your home. Cyra adds products featuring her original paintings often. She has won many TBA's (Todays Best Art) at Zazzle. Her original work can also be found on ebay and at EBSQ. She does have ACEO available. In her own words...

I was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
I studied Arts in San Juan, P.R., and Valencia, Spain. I have a degree in Arts.
My Studio is at home.

In the 80's I had the opportunity to express my art painting
in T-Shirts with Acrylic (Watercolor Technique), and baby clothes.
At that time I was studying at the Inter-American University of Arecibo, P.R.,
and they asked me to make a film for them showing how to paint a CLOWN, and MY BLACK CATS
on T-Shirts. I had a wonderful experience doing this film.
Also, I designed clothes with leather applications,
and belts for a Leather Boutique in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

After my second daughter was born,
I had to find a steady job,
which did not leave me time to pursue my art inclinations for many years.
I have begun drawings, painting watercolors, acrylics, oils,
and pastels once again. Now I have the time
to express my feelings in my art.

My favorite subjects are Nature details,
Animals, Faces...maybe something around me
that catches my attention and imagination.
I hope you enjoy my art.

All my drawings and paintings are dedicated
to my dad, David, and to the good memories he left us.

The Beauty of Persian Cats 

The Persian () is a longhaired cat characterized by its round face and shortened muzzle. One of the oldest cat breed, it takes its name from its place of origin, Persia (Iran). Recognized by the cat fancy since the late 19th century, it was developed first by the English, and then mainly by American breeders after the Second World War. In Britain, it is called the Longhair or Persian Longhair.

The selective breeding carried out by breeders has allowed the development of a wide variety of coat colors, but has also led to the creation of increasingly flat-faced Persians. Favored by fanciers, this head structure can bring with it a number of health problems. Like the case with the Siamese breed, there has been efforts by some breeders to developed the older type cats with a more pronounced muzzle, which is more popular with the general public. The hereditary polycystic kidney disease is prevalent in the breed, affecting almost half the population in some countries.
