Hello,
My name is Julie Claxton, before I was married I was Julie Rapier, and although I love my husband and his family very much, I feel that I will always be Julie Rapier, therefore; that's how I sign my name. I was born in 1986, I have lived in extreme southern Oklahoma all my life. I'm sure all of us as children have changed our minds a dozen times on what we wanted to be when we grew up, but 'artist' was always at the fore front of my mind. I'm lucky enough to have a husband, Samuel, who supports me while I chase this dream of mine. I work from home, in a small extra bedroom, which my 'studio' has to share with an 'office', so believe me, there's no space to spare. If my art doesnt sell, it gets cramped lol. I mostly work at night, while Sam is sleeping and the house is at it's quietest, I don't know if it's because I'm most at peace at this time of day, or because I'm an insomniac, but my best work always come at 1:00 in the morning, lol. My grandmother is an artist at heart with a lot of passion for her work, and there is no doubt that she is where I get my love for art from. As a child I only ever wanted to be an artist. My dream is to paint and sell to the people who really appreciate an imagination and a passion for doing something you love most. I only wish to one day become the artist that my old soul was intended for.

This was just a lil' 'doodle' I did one night, nothing special. I would like to start getting into the more abstract kind of work though, I just can't picture anything in my mind. Is this 'writer's block' lol? I've bought a few new pieces of canvas panel. 14"x18"'s - I just can't decide what I want to do anymore, lol, picky picky.
