Today I pulled the Fool tarot card affirming that we all need to speak our truth and not be afraid of embarking on all sorts of new beginnings in our lives. With the beginning of the astrological new year, this is the perfect time to cleanse out the old to make room for new possibilities!

When we feel unable to be honest with ourselves and others, our throat centers become closed or full of negative energetic junk. Open your throat chakra by allowing your truth to be told and let go of any lies that you may be holding onto through self-denial, fear, or self limiting blocks from the past. Clearing the air will open the door to a stronger awareness of the choices in front of you and breathe empowerment to your being.

Feeling stressed and overwhelmed? When you take on the weight of the world on your shoulders and overburden yourself with other people's problems, it's no wonder that you may find yourself buried under all of the obligations and responsibilities of day to day life. Have you been feeling stressed out? You're definitely not alone. The changes in the global economy have caused everyone to tighten their financial belts and look into new ways to simplify their lives for order and balance. The moon in Taurus on March 1st blocks our

Happy New Year! January heralds a time where our dreams can be grounded in physical manifestation and we are finally able to move forward with our productivity and work projects. From January 1st through January 18th, the sun sets up shop in practical Capricorn, focusing our efforts on responsibility and the creation of more stability in our lives. Speaking of forward movement, breathe a sigh of relief as Saturn goes retrograde this month. He'll drop a memo on our cosmic desk announcing the transition from his usual focus on limitations and blocks to a period of freedom from restrictions.

The Mercury retrograde in Aquarius from the 11th to the 20th will also encourage everyone to free up old mindsets and ideas about security. With Aquarius ruling technology, knowledge and electronics, you can also expect communications to be challenged by computer glitches, iphones acting screwy, and losing or misunderstanding messages. This retrograde reminds us that if we want to create long term change and get things accomplished then we need to think outside the box. From the 20th to the 31st, the retrograde changes direction into Capricorn to laser in on issues dealing with letting go of restraint and control. During this chapter, be prepared for the misplacement of physical items and the likelihood of miscommunication over money and practical matters. Mercury retrograding in Libra can bring back old relationships and friendships. So keep an eye out for people you haven't heard from in months or maybe even years coming back on the scene and looking to reconnect. Changes, whether it results from a break up, personal problems or loss of a job, can cause a person to lose their center and flounder while they try to find their footing. Some embrace the change as a way to move forward and try a new path. Others become paralyzed by the fear of change and allow it to control them. So, they look for stability outside of themselves and rely on others for security. Many people look to relationships and other people, experiences, and events to rescue them. The truth is they need to rescue themselves. By rescuing themselves, they strengthen their relationship with themselves, increase their self confidence and build real love. There is a beauty in developing an independent spirit and that will always attract like-minded people to their life.

The path to regaining your personal power and becoming whole begins with self-work. Self-work happens through conscious living. Conscious living means being awake and in the present. Don't dwell on the past and relive what happened to you yesterday. Focus on the present so you don't miss out on the opportunities all around you that can create new directions and exciting new possibilities. Be aware of the types of relationships, experiences, food, and environments you allow into your life and into your body. Most importantly, not using any of those things as a crutch. Stand in front of the mirror that represents your life, take a real hard look at what is no longer working and have the courage to do the spring cleaning necessary to end associations that keep you stuck or in a holding pattern. Remember the three R's in your spiritual liberation process: Review, Release, Rejuvenate.
