Another great way to reach an audience!

Hey everyone.
For those who didn't know, Kathy Hamilton, a well known marketer in Adlandpro and elsewhere, did an interview with me on Blog Talk Radio. The subject of the interview was my marketing efforts and my new site, Success Patol, all of which are doing very well :-)
I hope that any of you reading this will pop over and have a listen. I did what I could to provide value in my comments.

Blog Talk Radio

Interview with MistrTim

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to share with you that I'll be interviewed here on Blog Talk Radio, where I'll be sharing with listeners about Success Patrol and many other things. We're really focusing on blogs because blogging is where it's at!With an average readership of over 100 million people that continues to grow every second, marketers have found that the average blog has been transformed from being a simple online journal or news source to a highly profitable industry that even an average person can delve into and profit from.
The interview goes today (Jan 12) at 11am PST and the link above. There will also be a recording so you can catch it any time.

MistrTim Likes Roboform.

Lori L. Asks:

Ask MistrTim December 28th, 2007 at 9:53 pm

Lori:
My biggest question is how to keep everything straight? I spend a lot of time looking for passwords, usernames, access to sites back offices, etc. I've tried Roboform but it takes too long to learn. I keep some things in an excel spreadsheet, but even that doesn't get updated all the time. Any suggestions on organizing all this information so I can spend more time working and less time being frustrated?

_________________________________________________

MistrTim Speaks:

Hi Lori,
I've used several methods including; Excel, notepad, scraps of paper, a little black book, and sticky notes%u2026
I used to use Word and then print the sheets of paper out and keep them with me as I traveled.
Then I was introduced to Roboform. As a free tool it immediately allowed me an effortless entry to my logins but being a hyperactive marketing nut I rapidly used up those 10 freebies that you get with the unpaid version.
Being stubborn, I went back to paper, but soon relented and purchased Roboform and I'm glad I did.
Actually Roboform is not all that difficult to understand. The important thing to remember is to keep organized. I do that my using folders because as in this course, we have a few different but associated logins, so I have them all located in the same folder.
I love Roboform because it's "portable" too, but not in a way you'd expect.
Roboform has a "Print" and a "save" function. I used to print out my list when travelling from home, but that had to be changed with every new login. Then I discovered the save feature. Rather than selecting print, I save the list as a html file that I save to a memory stick that I can open with any computer wherever I am..
So Lori, I encourage you to give Roboform another chance. It really isn't as difficult as it might appear, and I'm sure with a little practice you'll find Roboform as indispensible as I do.

Thanks for the GREAT Internet Marketing question!

Publish or Perish

2 Article or not 2 Article..

Happy New Year 2008 Marketing World! Look OUT .... MistrTim'sa Comin!

A very good friend and marketer that I look up to, Larry Brauner, bless his heart... left this door open to me. He sent me an email with the subject line Publish or Perish I just couldn't help myself because it was such a provocative title, I just had to snag it for my article post today. It resonated with everything I've come to know about Online Marketing in today's Internet Marketplace.
Publish or Perish wasn't the subject of his article (which can be seen here Larry Brauner's Blog ) though.

Publish or Perish.
To me it means that if you aren't publishing your own articles (or at least some kind of articles) you simply aren't keeping up with the times. You're a "dodo" in more than one sense of the word (sorry..no offense intended)
My point here is that you simply must connect with your readers, you must establish your presence, and you must exhibit to others that you have something worthwhile to say and that it's worth their time to listen to you, and you'd be surprised, because people WILL listen if you will only just speak up!
Of course it helps to know what the heck you're talking about, and this I see is the stumbling block of many, because they don't think they have anything to say! To those unfortunates I say Bull Crap!
A good friend said to me..I'm not an experienced marketer, I don't know all that much about online marketing or the internet for that matter, and I said to him..but ___ my friend..what DO you know, what do you LOVE, and what could you talk about until the sun comes up? He responded, "well..boating, fishing, and karate".
And I said, "There ya go". Start writing.
It's really about that simple (well..unless you pick some wildly obscure topic and even then I bet you'll still find someone to read it) (gosh..maybe if it's wildly obscure enough you might get more than you expected..that's how new trends are started..lol)
I mean..look at me. I'm just going on here about something that resonated with me. I'm animated and the words are flowing.
I'm enjoying myself, and hopefully entertaining you as well ;-)
But back to the topic. Writing Articles.
Just do it. Write for your blogs, write in your squidoo lenses, and submit your articles to the directories for publication!
Let people know who you are and what you're about. Be real, and talk about real things and your words will resonate with others. Be false and they will see right through you!

Happy Articles to You!
(and much success)

Ask MistrTim Your Questions In The GuestBook:

See your answers here:

money2flow asked "if I were new to the Internet and didn't have a clue as to what the first step should be for establishing my presence, what would it be?

MistrTim Speaks:

A great question money2flow, one that I wish ALL people new to Internet Marketing would ask someone such as myself or any one of the many other reputable Marketing Professionals online today.
While I'm not in posession of ALL the right answers, I can certainly help to steer people away from making the same mistakes I made!
First off, I think people should remove the "need" from their marketing beginnings. If you're here because you "need" to make money, you're gonna get burned.
Yes..we ALL want to make some money online, but I leave it to the words of Zig Ziglar "You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want".
If your primary focus is to find out what people want and need, and then find a way to provide it, then you are almost assured success online.
But how to get started?
There are many ways, but a good way to start is by joining any of the many great marketing communities such as www.AdlandPro.com, Ojeez.com, Ryze.com, www.DirectMatches.com, Wahm.com, and more. Create your identity in those communities by posting in the forums and community boards. Let people get to know you, but a warning here. Develop RHINO skin from all the offers to join this or that, because you'll get many! On a regular basis.
Rather than becoming critical of them though, may I suggest that you become a student of them. Analyze the techniques used, and soon you'll begin to spot the newbies from the experienced and professional marketers. Before you join ANY marketing system, ask lots of questions and do your "due diligence" before shelling out any money! If there's an aspect of that company that you don't understand, utilize one of the best resources on this planet today, Google search, or even Wikipedia.com! Learn how to do a whois, and find out everything you can about the ownership of the company. Do a SCAM search, by adding scam at the end of the company name when doing your search in Google. If you find lots of complaints, you certainly have a better idea what your experience might likely be. If you find the company highly boastful of all the many thousands of dollars you can make with them in just a few minutes, and without having to work for it.. If the companies you view seem too good to be true, then they most likely are!
Trust your gut too! None of us fell off the "turnip truck". We all have common sense, and it's only our greed that will allow people to take advantage of us.
READ THE FINE PRINT! Terms of Service! etc. etc.

So, that's my suggestion for the first steps to take. Establish yourself in the communities, and start to blog about something you love and enjoy. Learn how to create your own articles, and learn where to post them. Once you've begun doing these things, THEN start to use your understanding of what people are looking for, find some products or services that can help fill those needs, affiliate with them, and then just start talking about them..in your communities, in your blogs, and in your Squidoo lens. Learn how to begin building your list of readers. Provide enough value and you will be sought after.
Do not fall into the trap of buying into a company before you've learned if anyone is even looking for that service or product, and before you've learned how to market yourself.
If you lead with a product, you will limit your success, but if you lead with yourself, and focus on bringing value to everyone you interact with, you will improve your chances 1000%

Thanks for this opportunity to share with you!

Hello Tim,

I love your lens and what a unique way to interact with other marketers who have concerns but don't know who to ask for answers to their questions. If I were new to the internet and did not have a clue as to what the first step should be for establishing my presence. What do you suggest?

Hi Tim,
Is there another 2.0 site that you think will spread your name like this one at Squidoo. I tried My Space and I had not luck with attracting the correct market. They all seem to want to have a good time. I am anxious for more of this type.
Thanks to Bob for his teaching!

I read a statement " The best way to sell is to make it sound as if you aren't selling anything at all." I would be interested in your view point on this. Do you have any tips, tricks to accomplish selling..without selling?
