ASP.NET development resources

Here are a few ASP.NET resources. I put this page together to help me find new articles, tutorials and information about ASP.NET, but will likely keep adding to it. I also have a number of ASP.net related links at my home links page.

ASP.NET Wikipedia

ASP.NET is a web application framework developed and marketed by Microsoft, that programmers can use to build dynamic web sites, web applications and web services. It was first released in January 2002 with version 1.0 of the .NET Framework, and is the successor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. ASP.NET is built on the Common Language Runtime (CLR), allowing programmers to write ASP.NET code using any supported .NET language.

Links about Getting Set Up (Plexo)

One of the worst things about ASP.NET seems to be just setting the darned thing up. It is fine if you use the defaults, but once you try to change machine.config or web.config, there can be a lot to do. This is especially true if you decide to use something other than SQL Server.

Here are some helpful links for understanding the config files and getting them set up.
