- You did a great job explaining asperger's. There are actually books written by autistic people (I've read one), so this isn't as unique as you seem to think it is. After all: any autistic person capable of writing a book is by definition an asperger or a high functioning autistic person.
As for the seeing aura's thing: I'm amazed you only learned about this last year. It's usually called clairvoyance, or second sight, or aura reading. Most people have to train to have it. To have it without having to work on it is very rare indeed. It must be a big help, in understanding people, given that autism is partly about NOT understanding other people.
So, blessed by a squidangel today :)

- Wendy, I am really touched by your story. I appreciate the time you took on writing about your experience, it will go a long way into helping people understand Aspergers. I am curious.. are most Aspies bad spellers like you mentioned in your story? 5* and fav.

- There are some ways in which we are so much alike. I find it easier to communicate in writing too, until I get to really know people. My house would drive you crazy though, because my bipolar disorder makes me very disorganized.
I hate people pushing pills at me too. I was misdiagnosed until the age of 38. antidepressants make me manic (didn't know thats what it was until I finally got properly diagnosed) and anti-anxiety meds made me lethargic and sometimes suicidal. I drank and did a lot of drugs when I was younger to try and escape from the unhappiness I felt. The only medication I take is Lithium because it takes the edge off the paranoia and irritability. It isn't without its faults but its the only one thats tolerable.
I fully agree that there's a whole lot more wrong with rude people who stare and call a person "crazy" and "retarded" because they're different than with the person who's different and is just peacefully trying to live.
