There are a lot of Multi Level Marketing (MLM) companies out there, some are good and some are bad. Ameriplan® is certainly not a bad company to work for.

Here is a brief Ameriplan® review...they offer great benefits like:

• Two ways of earning money. (Selling the Business Model, and Selling the Product)
• You earn money upfront for referring members ($35-$100) or IBO's ($90).
• You earn monthly residual income for everyone you refer to become either a member ($8-$35 a month) or an IBO ($15 a month) as long as that person stays on the plan. (Statistics show that 90% of the members who join with Ameriplan® stay with them! So, that is stable residual income.)
• You are quick to get paid on each commission. (Ameriplan® sends checks out daily.)
• Personal or Internet Training Provided at no extra cost.
• FREE Dental, Vision, Chiropractic, and Prescription services for your entire family.
• A 401K program is available as you progress with your business.
• You can will your business to your family when you die, so they will continue to get paid monthly checks for your hard work.

So, the company has all the bells and whistles to make for a great compensation plan. There definitely is potential to earn a lot of money with this company. However, this company, like many multilevel marketing companies, falls short in training their Independent Business Owners properly to market their business well.

Unfortunately, Ameriplan teaches very outdated and ineffective marketing techniques to their IBO's. They teach things like:

• The 3-foot rule. (Bother everyone that comes within 3 feet of you!)
• Tap into your "warm circle". (Bother your friends and family!)
• Buy Leads/Prospects. (Buying a list of names that has been sold a hundred times! Basically "cold calling" or bothering someone who has not shown any interest in your opportunity)
• Motivation. This is not necessarily a bad thing because you do want a positive attitude with your business, however, motivation alone does not create success. I feel Ameriplan® overemphasizes this too much.

These methods just do not provide you with the targeted traffic that you want, or need to build your business. I would say that the biggest problem with these methods is that it limits your customer base to only the people you meet, or come into contact with in your daily life!

So, if you are a stay-at-home-mom, with a small family, and small inner-circle of friends, that does not get out a whole lot, like my wife for instance, then you are not going to do very well using these methods.

Now, can someone be successful with Ameriplan® by using these methods? Of course they can! However, you will be working much harder to deliver mediocre/poor results.

There is a better way to do things, and it does not require bothering everyone, losing friends, or pushing through tons of rejection to find a good prospect! The whole idea is to get interested people to come to you because

- Setting up a good marketing system.
- Creating your own unique voice.

A good marketing system is one that sifts through potential prospects automatically, so that you can speak to only the most qualified ones.

In other words, you get to choose which prospects you want to talk to about your business, instead of bothering people who could care less about what you are offering!

How do you accomplish this?

• By putting the customers needs first. (The customer is the most important part of the sale, so if you spend all your time talking about yourself, then you are going to push potential customers away.)
• Build trust with potential customers by providing great information about your products. (Be a solutions provider to your target market.)
• Give your customers the opportunity to contact you with any questions or comments.
• Follow-up with your potential customers with autoresponders, or offer a newsletter that you put out each week. (Each email leads the potential customer slowly and methodically closer to your opportunity or product.)

A good marketing system reduces rejection and increases your conversion rate (ratio of the people who join your opportunity to those who do not).

And like with any good business it takes time to build. So, be patient, take it slow, and build your business right with a marketing system that works!

I just want to briefly talk about some autoresponders, since the follow-up methods you use are very important to gain that much needed on-going consumption from your customers. This will produce residual income that will lead you into financial freedom.

And by using autoresponders you can automatically give information to 100's or 1000's of people at the same time. You just have to write the letters once! That is making great use of your time.

While you are planning out your marketing system, you want to apply some attraction marketing techniques to it. This will help you bring a large amount of customers right to you.

So, how do you do attraction marketing? The whole concept of attraction marketing is to attract customers to you rather than accosting any and every individual you come into contact with.

You attract the customers to you by becoming a "solutions provider". You provide answers to a problem that your target market is searching for. When people do searches on the internet, they are looking for information (usually to a problem or an unanswered question) not an opportunity or a sales pitch.

Your goal would be to provide those answers. For instance, with Ameriplan® there is a specific target market. You would be targeting individuals that have little to no medical/dental coverage. In fact, the Search Engines liken duplicated websites to spam because they interfere with their business of providing different websites with great content to their customers.

The best answer would be to build your own website. Having your own website adds another dynamic to your business and marketing system that just drives even more quality FREE traffic right to you. And the Search Engines love quality websites with great content, which is always good for business when the SE's like you.

Building your own website is completely optional though, because you can receive plenty of FREE traffic by applying attraction marketing techniques to some of the social sites we discussed above.

The big difference is that with the social sites you have to keep updating your articles for the Search Engines to keep directing people to you, or you just need to keep creating content for your customers. (Which is always a good idea anyway.)

Whereas, with your own website, the Search Engines will give you more prominence, and you do not have to change your material, or add new things nearly as often. Still providing you lots of FREE traffic and quality prospects for many years to come!
